The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the National Defense Forces and some units of pro-government Shia militais, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, are rapidly advancing in the direction of the ISIS-besieged city of Deir Ezzor.
Government forces have liberated the Nuzayrat Mount, the Adimah Mount and entered the Nirman Mount area amid clashes with ISIS terrorists.
The SAA, the NDF and their allies are now advancing on ISIS positions from two directions:
- From the direction of Sukhna to Kobajep;
- From the direction of the Bishri triangle to Ash Sholah;
The villages of Kobajep and Ash Sholah are the last remaining ISIS-held strong points located at the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway. According to local sources, the rest of the ISIS static defenses is located much closer to the city of Deir Ezzor.
Thus, if government forces liberate Kobajep and Ash Sholah and are able to counter ISIS flanking maneuvers, they will be able to reach the city of Deir Ezzor in the near future.
The ANNA News agency released a video showing government operations aglong the highway to Palmyra:
Hurrah!
Flank south of sukhnah looks so dangerous. And the maadan situation? I hope hama pocket guys go there after they finish.
Great news!!!✌??? I am sure the problems at south Raqqa defense was on purpose.Tigers are encircling ISIS forces there through Ash Sholah and finally Deir Ezzor! Great strategic move by Tigers !!!!
Sounds like it. Let them run ahead thinking they are advancing, then cut them off when they are overstretched.
Advancing to where? I mean, where’s the advance?
He’s talking about ISUS advancing in the South Raqqah countryside on the banks of the Euphrates.
Towards South Raqqa from the south? From the direction of Deir es-Zor?
Yes, it already happened about a week ago. Tigers didn’t take Maadan town on the river so eventually ISUS launched a counter-attack from there – that’s what we are talking about when we say “advancing”. To make this attack or advance they have to draw men away from Deir Ezzor, which is great for SAA because they want to break through into the City of D-E. Now that they have broken through the ISUS insurgents in South Raqqa, who thought they were advancing, are about to be cut off from their evil brethren in the South. Ok?
Remains to be seen. I need to read the latest news. KiraSeer
Are they advancing from the south? Is it possible they could be deceptive, by-pass South Raqqa, then turn back from the north? Don’t know if that’s possible, but something seems not quite right here.
I think IS is heading for the dam!!
South Raqqa.
Tend to agree. If SAA had taken Maadan there would have been nothing left to fight for. Even if ISUS gets intel help from CIA observers across the river, soon it won’t help them when they get surrounded by events further south. If planned, it’s brilliant.
*ISIS and no they dont have help from the CIA only the rebels.
ISIS is assisted by CIA scum.
No only the rebels which was said to halted by trump.
I agree
SAA is 18 kms from DZ according to wata who is reliable https://twitter.com/watanisy/status/904284637106720768

GREATER NEWS ARE COMING TODAY !!!!
Which forces are where exactly? Tiger forces, Republican Gards…..?
Tigers
Tigers,Republican Guard,Russian Special Forces( to point targets for RUAF),Russian contratist advisors,NDF…
Tigers are everywhere)))
The 5th are everywhere and also the Hezbollah and the NDF , the Qalamoun Shield forces are doing a good job in the pocket once this is cleared , they will be able to reinforce some areas and prepare for attacks from HTS in Idlib, the whole entire region is filled with murdering terrorists.
Most of them are already tigers too!
As the article said about the drive to the Kobajjeb-Ash Sholah area, the Daeshbag flanking maneuvers will be a problem if they aren’t vigilant, and they should keep the RuAF gunships close at hand to sort out the bandits.
SAA should make wider buffer zone North and South of the DZ highway. Right now the buffer zone South of DZ highway does not exist. Attack helicopters should be very active.
If SAA has the resource should also advance South of the DZ highway. Is mostly desert and not well defended currently., but this could change. Therefore SAA should take advantage.
SAA units and Deir Ezzor area should be more pr-active and attack ISIS or even make some advances If SAA proceed with such speed, most likely ISIS will start withdrawing from Deir Ezzor, because will be attack from behind and most likely the defence lines are not well prepare
Think more about the forest and less about the trees.
The Syrian government coalition longer range ground weapons and aircraft are actively targeting the invaders in and around all 3 cities at this time to clear the way for ground forces. The battle is in full swing and I’m sure that the invaders are suffering steady casualties as their weapons and positions are being destroyed systematically. The maps are only showing the main ground advance. There are commando units ahead of that engaging the enemy in multiple locations. And the main ground force will soon be entering the built up areas to begin the the process of clearing and securing them.

Ed Duda a-go-go; now that the Syrians are so close, it’s hard to disguise their tactical intentions so if I were them, I’d used Deir Ez as a diversion, bypass it and cross the Euphrates. Alternatively, roll up the flanks of the US head-chopping, heart-eating rapers and close up the the river somewhere else.

ANNA News has done a brilliant job of reporting from near the front lines. I look forward to their report from Deir Ezzor when the bulk of the SAA meets the defenders of the city!
I love this. It may sound too poetic or ssomething but nothing beats seeing the good guys kicking rats ass big time. I’m not one to say that it will be fast and easy. There will be losses and wounds but victory is near. Among the Syrians, Hesballah and Iranians there are our men – SOF working providing target designation for RuAF. This requires working very close to often counteratacking rats. They don’t need my words but I will post it anyway – remember Alexander Prochorenko. He showed us that Russian army traditions are not forgotten. Americans say – do or die. You think – die but do. Make your fathers be proud of you and come back home if at all possible.
Make no mistake Syria has to take the NE of Syria. It is going to be very hard if not impossible given US has built airbase and army camps there .In addition, it might be part of this new Kurd state Nato Us wants to create.
Syria needs this Euphrates valley and NEast not just because it has hydrocarbons but more importantly it has water!
If nato us kurds control this then they can strangle Syria slowly.Without water Syria will not have cheap water to irrigate and feed itself and will certainly not have cheap power to rebuild industry and thus the country. They might be free but they will be in rags and hungry.
