On May 25, the US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) group Shabab al-Sunnah shelled the positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) in the western al-Suwayda countryside. The group claimed that it was responding to the SAA shelling on the key city of Busra al-Harir in the eastern Daraa countryside.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) also reported that the SAA had shelled several positions of the FSA in the southern part of Daraa city with mortars. The SOHR claimed that a single civilian had been slightly injured in the shelling.
A day earlier, a large convoy of the SAA was shelled by fighters of the “al-Bunyan al-Marsous” operations room after it had arrived to the Shilka Battalion in the northern part of the city of Daraa.
These incidents are another proof that the SAA and its allies are about to launch a large-scale military operation in southern Syria against the FSA. Several sources even confirmed that the SAA and Russia had already sent a final warning to the FSA groups in several key towns of Daraa governorate.
What I’d like to know is who is running the “FSA” FDCs and who are their FOs?

The ‘ soy boys ‘ of the IDF are no match for the battle-hardened Syrian Arab Army, NDF, Hezbollah, IRGC who have built up big muscles after 7 years of real combat experience. They can roll up the acres all the way to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Its going to happen. Because Israel wants war, they will get war.

It’s already is another front. Israel are looking hard to degrade Syrian Air Defence capability and Syrian would soon make more deterrent action regarding that. You wanted occupied golan firing to defend the militants ?
I do not speak of Israel’s current no war / no peace scenario with Hezbollah and the SAA, nor the undeclared war with Iran. The SAA is large but is divided among security forces of all sorts throughout the country so that its stike force is modest (consider size of the battles of Gouta and Yarmouk). But war with Israel will be a different sort of battle altogether. The IDF is a massed reservist force, they can have a huge offensive in any direction within 24 hours but can’t be mobilized for more than a few months because mobilization shuts down the Israeli economy. So when I say war with Israel, I mean that in quick and extreme fighting either the SAA will seize key positions in the Golan or an encirclement of Damascus will end the matter. Also, not all of these Rebels are allied with Israel, and I saw something in Haaretz that argued that the return of Assad’s power will end the constant small scale warfare.
