Assad Discusses Syrian-Turkish Normalization Process With Iranian Foreign Minister

On March 9, President Bashar al-Assad discussed the ongoing Turkish-Syrian normalization process with Iranian foreign minister Hussein Amir Abdollahia.

The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Damascus coming from Ankara on a solidarity visit after the February 6 Turkish-Syrian earthquakes, which claimed the lives of more than 50,000 people in both countries.

During the meeting, President Assad welcomes Iran’s participation in the normalization talks affirming that there should be good preparations for them based on an agenda, titles, specified and clear outcomes.

“The interests of the Syrian people are the basis in any political steps adopted by the state,” the president affirmed, adding that the outcome should be within these interates.

Damascus reportedly wants Turkey to gradually withdraw all of its forces from Syrian territory, especially the northwestern region of Greater Idlib. It is also looking for cooperation against terrorist groups, like al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.

From his part, Abdollahian reaffirmed Iran’s keenness on supporting the Syrian people, unity and territorial integrity, saying that his country has full confidence in the Syrian stances and decisions and it will back these stances in the quartet meetings.

During Abdollahian’s visit to Ankara, it was announced that the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iran will hold a technical meeting in Moscow next week.

The normalization talks between Ankara and Damascus gained momentum last December, when the defense ministers and intelligence chiefs of the two countries met in Moscow. The participation of Iran, a key ally of Damascus, in the talks has been already welcomed by Ankara.

Good luck to all those involved in negotiations. It’s the only way to end the present conflict and ensure against further US/nato invasions and terrorist squads.

No1 – the opposition is the US, the isreali apartheid regime, and nato. There is no real opposition in Syria that isn’t run by nato spooks.

No2 – President Assad and his many supporters? Last time he went to the polls 98.N% of Syrian’s wanted him to lead the country. That’s a lot of consequences. Only god is that powerful.

No3 – you’re so right.

HTS and SNA are not controlled by the US or Israel. FSA and SDF yes. But SDF is too Assad-friendly.

Someone had to supply this scum with millions of dollars to set up shop in Syria. The white helmets are affiliated to HTS. They have been photographed and filmed firing their weapons in city centres in celebration with fellow HTS terrorists. The white helmets are terrorists by day and white helmets when it suits them or when the bbc is in town.

The white helmets are funded by western spooks, including the isreali apartheid regime, who are busy in the north promising the Kurds everything but a bright future.

Chris Gr

HTS was made with the support of Qatar.

Chris Gr

One way or the other, the Assad regime won’t survive for long and Erdogan will be replaced. Iran will stay for long though.

Sufyani will be from the Shishakli faction, the Arab Liberation Movement. That group opposed Ba’athists, Islamists and liberals at the same time and was pro-West.

Erdogan 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Syrian admin isn’t a regime. It’s a democracy with which President Assad garnered over 98% of the votes cast in a transparent election. An election which cannot be matched anywhere in the western countries. No western leader has ever had a majority that large.

With the Syrian people firmly behind their leader President Assad won’t be going anywhere soon. Maybe one day President Assad might get to the ICC to give evidence against criminals in western gov’ts who attacked his country and stole its resources.

The whole area is uniting against the common enemy and because of a common enemy. Things are going to change. The US is a spent force and so is nato.

The election system was flawed there. It is truth that Assad made crimes but the jihadists shouldn’t talk and start talking about their own.
