Syrian President Bashar Assad called the US-led coalition’s air strikes on the Syrian army is a naked agression in favor of the interests of the ISIS terrorist group.
“Increased state support for terrorists hostile to Syria has recently presented itself in the form of naked American aggression against one of the Syrian army positions in Deir ez-Zor in favor of the interests of [the ISIS terrorist group],” Assad said, according to the Syrian presidency’s Twitter account, hosting a senior Iranian diplomat.
Assad emphasized that “countries hostile to Syria increase their support for terrorism as Syria succeeds in liberating territories and signing ceasefire agreements.”
The airstrikes by the US-led coalition warplanes near the Deir Ezzor airport hit the Syrian army on Saturday and killed 62 servicemen and injured 100 more.
Time for Russia and Syria to implement their own “no-fly zone.”
