The United States and the United Kingdom launched another wave of strikes against Yemen late on May 30, allegedly hitting targets of the Iranian-backed Houthis (Ansar Allah).
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement that U.S. and British forces had hit 13 targets in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. In addition, the command said its forces unilaterally destroyed eight Houthi suicide drones over Yemen and the Red Sea.
“It was determined that these UAVs and sites presented a threat to U.S. and coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region,” CENTCOM said. “These actions are necessary to protect our forces, ensure freedom of navigation, and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.”
Meanwhile, the UK’s Ministry of Defense said that the joint strikes targeted three locations in the western Yemeni province of al-Hodeidah, which it said housed drones and surface-to-air weapons.
“As ever, the utmost care was taken in planning the strikes to minimize any risk to civilians or non-military infrastructure,” the British defense ministry said in a statement. “Conducting the strikes in the hours of darkness should also have mitigated yet further any such risks.”
Typhoon FGR4s fighter jets of the Royal Air Force took part in the strikes, according to the ministry. U.S. officials also told The Associated Press that American F/A-18 fighter jets launched from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier in the Red Sea and several U.S. warships in the region participated.
The targets hit during the strikes included a wide range of underground facilities, missile launchers, command and control sites, a Houthi vessel and other facilities, AP reported, citing several U.S. officials.
Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV, which is run by the Houthis, reported several strikes on the capital, Sanaa, as well as on the al-Hawk district and the port of Salif in al-Hodeidah.
According to the news channel, the American-British strikes claimed the lives of 16 people and left at least 35 others wounded. Civilians were reportedly among the casualties.
Since last November, the Houthi have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the UK in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in response to the Israeli war and siege on the Palestinian enclave of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the group launched dozens of drones and missiles at the southernmost Israeli city of Eilat and shot down six American-made combat drones over Yemen and nearby waters.
This was the fifth time that the U.S. and the UK have conducted a combined operation against the Houthis since January. Furthermore, U.S. forces also have been carrying out almost daily strikes to take out the offensive capabilities of the Houthis.
The latest joint strikes will not likely deter the Houthis. The group survived harsher attacks and even managed to expand its operations and develop its capabilities.

remember kids, the sadistic brutality on display from the british, amerikan and israeli is a sign of their growing weakness. they are frustrated and in need of love in their lives. they have none. they are at the end of the road, run out of road. now they are facing the cliff. its existential to the western ego that men with no air force can shut down the red sea trade despite their military ‘supremacy’.
going down…? …. remember kids??
wtf in hell pedoh talk is this dude?

you me everyone has realised that these are poor oil rich countries and why the british and american governments are doing this. its how they have built there economy. but the mistake they have made is going public with bits and peaces of info. the british public are beginning to see how greedy the government has been. using taxpayers money to fight wars that only the oil giants benefit from. they think taking in refugees is going to solve the world hatred for what their doing.
these illegal attacks will continue until the houthi’s start sinking, not just targeting, warships. the west is extremely averse to body bags. that is what it will take. forget targeting with 1 or 2 weapons, do to them what you did to ksa, send 20, 30, whatever it takes…but start sinking them. they are like the israelis, power is all they understand. give them what they understand, otherwise the zionists will not stop.
perhaps the usa and uk are too close and the people of the usa and their money are being used for uk’s global ambitions
what’s that sound of booms? 🙉 that’s houthis striking back at warmongers.

a riff of a beatles classic “back in the u.s.s.r.” with lyrics redone that tells it like it is –
back in the u.s.s.a.
[verse 1] ohhh… flew in from sikorsky, on a “boeing seat” had myself a restless night… all the way from kiev puke bag on my knee man it was a dreadful flight…
[chorus] i’m back in the u.s.s.a. where the rule of law dies more every day eh… back in the u.s.s.a.
i would have finished the lyrics, but it looks like southfront has the same mainstream media as the country that is doing them the worst harm!
