At least 16 Syrian troops have been killed and some 14 others have been injured as a result of an car bomb blast and a following ISIS attack on positions of the Syrian Army in central Syria.
The car bomb driven driven by an ISIS suicide bomber hit the government forces’ positions near the T3 pumping station, located east of the city of Palmyra in the province of Homs.
According to reports, a few vehicles were also damaged or destroyed in the attack.
This was one of the biggest ISIS attacks on government positions since a formal defeat of ISIS in the Euphrates Valley. It clearly shows that ISIS cells operating in the Homs-Deir Ezzor desert still pose a notable security threat to the country.
It should be noted that ISIS in the Homs-Deir Ezzor desert received additional reinforcements after a group of ISIS terrorists had been allowed to withdraw from southern Damascus to the area.

My feeling is that this was a serious Syria soldier mistake having too much confidence and very underestimation of ISIS fighters. I hope they have learned the lesson. The war is not over until it is over, it does not matter how many victories you have gotten.
