Israel continues to launch intensive strikes against alleged targets of Hezbollah across Lebanon, from the southern region to the eastern Bekaa Valley and the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate in the northeast.
Over the night of September 24 and 25, dozens of weapon depots including those storing cruise missiles, launchers for precision missiles and other infrastructure were struck, the IDF said in a statement, adding that secondary blasts can be seen in footage following the strikes, “which indicate that many weapons were stored in the warehouses.”
In another statement, the IDF said that it struck a multiple rocket launcher of Hezbollah in the southern Lebanese town of Tebnine.
More than 100 targets of the group were struck in Lebanon following the overnight strikes, according to the IDF, which said in a separate statement that additional targets near the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh were being targeted.
The Lebanese Health Ministry said that 19 people have been killed since the morning of September 25. More than 94 others have been wounded, per the ministry.
In addition to a ballistic missile attack that targeted the headquarters of Israel’s main spy agency, the Mossad, near the city of Tel Aviv in the morning, Hezbollah fired dozens of heavy rockets at the headquarters of the IDF’s Northern Command in David base, the settlement of Hatzor and other targets deep in northern Israel.
Another salvo of heavy rockets hit the northern Israeli settlement of Sa’ar, moderately wounding at least two people, according to Hebrew media.
The confrontation between Israel and Lebanon broke out after the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip last October, with Hezbollah and its allies launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Palestinian enclave.
On September 23, Israel escalated its strikes against Lebanon to a level not seen since the war of 2006. So far, the strikes have claimed the lives of nearly 600 people.
All in all, the confrontation has so far resulted in 26 civilian deaths in Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights as well as the deaths of at least 22 soldiers and security officers. On the Lebanese side, more than 1,800 people have been killed, including more than 500 fighters of Hezbollah.
