At least 20 people were killed in an al-Shabaab attack on the Somalian city of Mogadishu.
On Feburary 28, a suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device on the front of Hotel Maka al-Mukarama. Following the car bomb explosion, 3 gunmen stormed the nearby building.
We were so lucky to survive the huge blast this evening in #Mogadishu. The gunment took hostages a number of civilians. US-trained Somali troops known as the Alpha Group were called in to surround the building and end the siege. The last militant was eliminated in the evening of March 1.
