At least 60 fighters backed by the Saud-led coalition were killed and 120 others were injured in a combined missile and rone strike by the Houthis on a military training camp in the Yemeni city of Marib on January 18.
Pro-Saudi sources claimed that the strike targeted the camp while Saudi-backed personnel were praying. They also claimed that Saudi-led forces shot down at least one Houthi drone involved in the strike.
There is talk that the specific missile used was the Yemeni made (with Iranian assistance) BADR-F Ballistic missile.

Yemen is “Vietnam” in arab…………………..no more words!!!!!!!!!!!!
Indeed, let me elaborate in case not everybody understood the point. Al-Yaman literally means ‘the south’ (or right-hand side, when facing the rising sun, as is usual in Semitic languages, i.e. ‘East’ meaning in front, ‘North’ = left etc.). Now, ‘Vietnam’ literally mean South-People. So, yes, even linguistically, it is pretty much the same – just the environment is different, although equally intractable.
8ran and Yemen does not take shit.Blaiming iran in order to keep it away from Yemen support is fraught. Organise by USA,Britain France,Saudi,Israel and Turkey. That same tactic is applied in Syria on Iran to avoid helping Lebanon which oil Israel is free drilling and stealing. Iran should also airdrop weapons for Hisbollah and Yemen just like USANATO for Syrian terrorists.
Iran needs to concentrate on Syria and Iraq as the Yemenis have proven to be the most tenacious and resilient warriors. They just need technical advise.
“… shot down at least one Houthi drone involved in the strike.”
Houthi Drones: 49 – Saudi Patriot Missle: 1
https://media3.giphy.com/media/APcFiiTrG0x2/giphy.gif Great job, Patriot! It’s great you are much better system than rusty Pantsir!
Hate to tell both of you but there are no Patriot missiles in Yemen and even if there were the Patriot isn’t designed to take on drones.
So stiil despite huge support wahhabis are losing as usual
Like we used to say back in the day “it’s not the man in the fight but the fight in the man”. The Saudi’s are the third highest military spenders in the world and they couldn’t fight if their lives depended on it … or maybe they can’t fight because their lives don’t depend on it.
Defending your home and loved ones is a huge incentive to fight. Look at the way the Russians fought the nazi’s, the Japanese fought the Americans in their home islands or how the Viet Cong fought the Americans. It’s a real incentive that trumps the best ‘tech’
They are insane
Not exactly true. Every anti aircraft system is designed for drones also but often not adequate. It depends on many things. Depends on the size of drones and altitude they fly. Probably small and even medium sized drones can go “under” the radar range (flying very low)depending on configuration of the terrain. Also patriot missiles are way to expensive for using against even medium size drones. And have low level of efficacity against the swarms of drones also.
There are Patriot systems in KSA and did fail miserably when Huties attacked Aramco! How many drones and rockets hit Hmeimim, how many Aramco and other targets all across KSA, hmm?
You’re preaching to the choir. Still there is no way the Saudi’s would move air defence away from oil facilities and desalinization plants to defend a training camp for mercenaries in Yemen.
When did i said that? All i was saying is Patriot doesn’t work on small slow moving targets at all while multiple Russian systems are!

Patriot system???…great job??? Bwahahahaha
Also the Ansarallah don’t give a 6 hour warning :) to their enemies. The real death toll from this accurate strike is now over 100 Saudis and mercenaries killed in just one missile strike.
Mh. It looks like the actual impact came from another sub-par export variant of an Iranian ballistic missile probably of the Zulfiqar series, according to other sources, even though one should take those with a pinch of salt for now. If it was I would bet it was similar to those used in the Al-Asad warning strike. Though this time the rules of engagement came with no prior warnings, real warheads, and targets chosen with maximum causalities in mind. Looks like the “secondary vindication” is kicking in. In no time we’ll see skirmishes multiplying in Iraq as well… thanks a lot Donald for setting the stage for yet another round of destabilization.
If only the Russians and Chinese had the same will to resist.
The accuracy of the Yemeni missiles is now at par with Iran. Russian media have given an insight into the effectiveness of the GLONASS global navigation system which is independent of US jam-able systems, and supersedes the capability insecure American GPS, and had the effect of reducing the Iranian missiles’ targeting error to just 10 meters.Even Russians were taken by surprise at the high level of Iranian missile reliability as only two of the missiles failed to reach their intended targets.
Russian military sources report that the accuracy of impact amazed US and Israel intelligence, which had not been aware of this Iranian capacity. Its significance is such that – whether provided by Russia or hybrid – Iran’s short- medium-range and long range missiles can reach any point in the Middle East and most parts of Europe that is unprotected by effective anti-missile systems within a 2200km radius. It is also certain now that Hezbollah, Syria and other Iranian allies have access to the same technology
