On February 3, a convoy carrying logistic supplies and military equipment for the US-led coalition in Iraq came under attack.
The coalition’s convoy was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) while passing in the northern province of Saladin. The convoy’s vehicles were reportedly damaged as a result of the attack.
This was the fourth supply convoy of the US-led coalition to be attacked in Iraq in less than a week. On March 1, three convoys were targeted. The first convoy was targeted in the southern province of al-Qadisiyyah, the second one was attacked in the western province of al-Anbar while the third came under attack on the al-Muthanna-Nasiriyah highway in the southern region.
All recent attacks were most likely carried out by pro-Iranian forces in Iraq, who have been waging an insurgency against the US-led coalition for more than two years now.
Pro-Iranian forces promote their attacks are a response to the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, and Iran’s Quds Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani.
The key demand of Pro-Iranian forces remains a full US withdrawal from Iraq. Despite sustaining some material and human losses over the past two years, Washington appears to be determined to keep its troops in the country.
Sadly there are no more Russian supply convoys in Ukraine
Wtf you are talking about you Islamophobic pork?
The media has some nutty stuff about the convoy being all broken down. Saying they are stealing food from homes and looting stores. Somehow all of their own food is expired. I find it amusing that makes sense to people.
