On December 2, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense published a video showing gits forces on the territory of the Sotk gold mine in Kelbajar district in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The gold mine is located just on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. A part of the gold mine is on the territory of Azerbaijan, while another one is on the territory of Armenia.
Another video shows Garygyshlag village in Lachin district.
Thats a lot of equipment Armenians left there. Not cheap also, not cheap at all.
They were forced to leave in a hurry.
Pashinyan could have negociated the control of the mine under Armenia in exchange of all NK!…Now all NK is non-viable economically!..have lost almost all agriculture fertile lands, have lost Tourism service as all Monasteries, Churches and Shusha Cathedral are under AZ hands, have lost the famous Hadrut wineries…if Armenians return there is just because have their houses and can ask for economic aids…but sooner or later will turn in a dead zone with Russian bases around..nobody will invest there!

NK is done!…without gold mine, tourism, agriculture lands, Hadrut wines…etc..the economy of the capital and 2 more provinces cannot survive!…only investment can help….but who wants to invest there?…it is a risky business…
The Sotk Gold Mine is operated by the Russian Geopromining Gold so all these machinery belong to the company
But jobs and important taxes belong to Azerbaijan now. Gold mine was the biggest contributor to Armenian state budget.
That could explain it.
All that equipment belong to a western company which obviusly can file a lawsuit vs Armenian government…

The court will ask that company: what were you doing in Azerbaijani territory without their consent? Are you prepared to pay compensation for the gold mined until today? Dude, no one will file anything. It will be “bygones be bygones”.
The Lawsuit is againts Armenian government…company has not received any warn of Armenian autorities that was operating inside Azerbajan territory!
I highly doubt the court will buy that. I even doubt any lawyer would take such case. Territorial ownerships is not a very confidential info not to be able to find. I am curious if Azerbaijan will raise a case against that company on illegal activity as well as compensation for loss profit.
all dependes if Azerbajan have warned that company prior they started to work in that mine..
Only the land of the mine has passed to the Azerbaijanis. The exploitation of it’s minerals remains to the Russian Company that was using it before.
Still important taxes can be collected. That gold mine was the most important contributor to the budget of Armenia. So I doubt that they will be only negligible contribution in Azerbaijani budget. Not to mention that all the jobs will now go now to Azebaijani’s.
