Azerbaijani combat drones continue to inflict heavy losses on Armenian forces in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
On October 10, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan shared videos of recent drone strikes. The strikes, which were likely carried out before the state of the humanitarian ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, hit the following targets:
- 3 fortified post;
- 1 ammunition depot;
- 4 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer;
- 6 T-72 battle tanks;
- 10 D-30 howitzers;
- 3 military tucks;
- 3 MT-LB armored vehicles;
- 2 BM-21 multiple rocket launchers.
Azerbaijani combat drones also targeted and destroyed a 1S32 “Pat Hand” radar and three 9K33 Osa short-range air-defense systems.
The 1S32 is the fire control and guidance radar of the 2K11 Krug medium-range air-defense system. The radar, which operates at H-band, has a range of 128 km. Several 2K11 systems are still in service with the Armenian military.
Azerbaijan intensified its attacks on the Armenian air-defense network in the last few days. Azerbaijani sources shared earlier today videos showing attacks with loitering munitions on Armenian S-300 long-range air-defense systems.

Azeri army is also much larger than Afghan army. It can also send in paramilitary men who are eager to go back home.

This is very different from Vietnam because Azerbaijani forces are highly motivated and believe in the cause they are dying for. Secondly, the Azerbaijani people have rallied behind their leader and are willing to make long-term sacrifices. America on the other hand failed in Vietnam because the American people protested massive against that war. The president was forced to resign. Thirdly, Azerbaijan is in close proximity to Armenia, unlike America and Vietnam.
America failed in Vietnam not because the U.S military wasn’t capable, but because the war was unpopular back at home. Get that into your head. Had the American people supported the war like they did Iraq, the U.S would have bombed the hell out of North Vietnam. See example in the Korean war.
When the Armenian Armour is severely depleted, the Azerbaijanis will just roll in facing a lot less resistance.
While a few of these are definitely filmed in action, I think the majority are from training exercises. The ones where no troops are visible and the artillery pieces are exposed and alone. Also, although we see a couple of tank hits, the are very careful to cut off the video whilst the explosion and the smoke are at their maximum, successfully concealing the results of the strike.

The Turkish Bayraktar TB2 is a medium altitude long endurance unmanned combat aerial vehicle capable of remotely controlled or autonomous flight operations. The drones carry precision-guided MAM-L (Smart Micro Munitions).
President Aliyev lauded the capabilities of the Turkish drone in his interview saying that the drones show Ankara’s strength and they empower Baku as well.
He also stated that Azerbaijan military seeks to learn from the Turkish military and replicate it. The Turkish drones were provided this year only. The goal could be Azerbaijan’s motivation to acquire these drones.
“I believe Azerbaijan was inspired by Turkey’s innovative and decisive drone strikes in Syria (in late February/early March) and Libya (last May),” Matthew Bryza, a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan and a former U.S. mediator of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, talking to Forbes.
Another deadly drone, Israeli Harops, also known as ‘suicide’ or ‘kamikaze’ drones, “proved themselves very effective” said Hikmet Hajiyev, the foreign policy adviser to the president of Azerbaijan in an interview with Axios. Developed by the MBT division of Israel Aerospace Industries, the Harop is an anti-radiation drone. It can easily destroy enemy radars as part of the suppression of enemy air defences (SEAD) operations.”
