Bad Weather Forces Syrian Army To Put On Pause Anti-ISIS Operation In Al-Safa

Poor weather conditions have forced the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies to pause their military operation against ISIS in the area of al-Safa, the Syria-based al-Suwayda 24 blog reported on November 14.

“Clashes stopped in the area of al-Safa today, Wednesday 14-11-2018, and yesterday, Tuesday, after the formation of several streams and swamps as a result of heavy rain … military operation is limited to some artillery strikes now and then,” al-Suwayda 24 reporter around al-Safa said.

The SAA launched a new attack on al-Safa, which is located north of the generate of al-Suwayda, on November 11. Unlike previous attacks, the army and its allies managed to advance several kilometers deep inside the heavily fortified area.

ISIS will likely take advantage of the bad weather to reorganize its forces and launch new attacks against the SAA and its allies around al-Safa. Last month, the terrorist groups followed the same approach and attacked US-backed forces when a storm hit the middle Euphrates River Valley.

What ! ? I just wonder if Russia winter was a good weather for Russia to attack Germany in Moscow during the WWII. So, bad weather for SAA is good weather for terrorists.

Tanks designed to operate in the desert don’t do so well in wet muddy conditions. Tanks like the Abrams, designed to fight in Russia constantly need repairs in dusty conditions. It’s horses for courses.

Dam, this operation took to long because of the pause for hostage release. Now ISIS has water to drink :( but the infrared spotting may work better. :)

Theres a huge difference between desertmud and “european mud”, desert mud is a pain to walk and drive in, it gets as sticky as glue, slippery as soap and heavy as clay, and when it dryes, it gets hard as concrete and needs to get hammered out.

Western vehicles are very sensitive to that kind of mud, tracked and wheeled, i do not know how sensitive russian made vehicles are to that kind of mud.

SAA couldnt break from west side of vulcano Safa and now try to penetrate to the north but ISIS firmly holds their positions, SAA bring heavy artilery, tanks, drones, Republican Guard, NDF, ex rebels, Palestinian militias but last two months they cant progress even 500 metres, last days SAA territorial progress ISIS has returned by counterattack

The latest excuse from Russian Propaganda. Just shows how feeble Putin’s military is. They can only fight when the weather is good. Next they will not be able to fight because the sun is in their eyes, do not want to take the chance of hitting any civilians. Then there are the holidays, would be disrespectful to fight on any Muslim, Christian or Jewish holidays. Then there is Putin’s birthday, ditto Assad, Trump, Erdogan, … Putin has the most powerful propaganda excuse force on the planet.

Translation, ISIS works for Russia-Syria-Iran coalition. We are in the process of re-deploying them to their next assignment. After al Safa ISIS is fully re-deployed we will release the tales of our great battles and victory in al Safa and more lies about the thousands of ISIS fighters killed.

So, according to you, ISIS was created by Russia, Syria and Iran… yet their commanders are often caught (on video and over radio chatter) being airlifted to and from different battlefields in Syria, Iraq AND Afghanistan by US helicopters.

Also, for some strange reason, during the years where ISIS was rising and made huge territorial gains in Syria and Iraq (using US/Israeli/NATO-supplied weapons) including the sales of Syria’s stolen oil to turkey from the east euphrates, the US was completely “powerless” to stop them until Russia was invited by the Syrian government to aid them in the eradication of foreign-backed terrorists and quite literally buried them in the sands with their trucks/tanks.

The fact of the matter is, the only ones who have benefited from the rise of ISIS is the Americans, Israelis, Saudis, Brits, Frenchies and other assorted foreign vassal states who still occupy 1/3rd of the country under the auspices of fighting ISIS and eradicating terrorism while doing the exact opposite.

p.s Who is this “We” that you keep referring to? You’re clearly a hasbara troll and speak neither for the governments or the people of Syria, Iran or Russia

I believe ISIS are mercenaries who fight for the highest bidder. This article is about al Safa ISIS who are clearly working for the Russia-Syria-Iran team. This should be very simple for you since you only have two choices:

1. Putin’s Russian military is so impotent that they cannot take a little spit of land held by a couple hundred fighters they have been surrounded for almost a year. I have too much respect for Putin and the Russian Military to ever believe that.

2. al Safa ISIS works for Putin.

Which is it?

3. You’re a Hasbara Troll spreading obvious lies and propaganda to a very, very unreceptive audience.

Now Russia-Syria-Iran has let al Safa ISIS “flee”. After having them surrounded for almost a year they let them move out with all their stuff to go and fight another day.

So you tell me why did the not kill ISIS and just let them go?
