On February 13, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that Russian forces took control of the village of Krasnaya Gora located on the north-western outskirts of Bakhmut. Head of the Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin, whose fighters are operating in the region, declared their control of Krasnaya Gora on February 12.
Prigozhin stressed that the battles for the village were conducted exclusively by fighters of the private military company. He claimed that there are only Wagner fighters operating in the area of up to 50 kilometers from the city.
The battle for the village of Krasnaya Gora which has been ongoing for about two weeks ended by Russian victory. This allowed Russian forces to establish a stronghold on the dominant heights near the village of Paraskovievka located nearby which is still under control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The Ukrainian military is yet to acknowledge the loss of Krasnaya Gora and the deplorable position of the Ukrainian garrison in Paraskovievka.
Fighting is already going on in Paraskovievka itself. The village is almost surrounded by Wagner fighters who are advancing from the northern (from Blagodatnoe), north-eastern (Krasnaya Gora), eastern (Podgorodnoe) and western directions.
The village is reportedly defended by the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, the 24th Mechanized and 57th Motorized Infantry Brigades of the AFU. Ukrainian units did not leave their positions, but all the roads to escape from the village are already cut.
Surrounding Paraskovievka from the west, Wagner units are already approaching the village of Berhovka located to the south-west of Paraskovievka.

On February 14, preliminary reports claimed that Russian forces had finally cut the road Slavyansk-Bakhmut, which was under Russian fire control before and was a dangerous way for transfer of any military supplies for the Ukrainian garrison in Bakhmut.
While Russian advance on the south-western outskirts of Bakhmut stopped in the village of Ivanovakoe, they are advancing from the north from Berhovka towards the roads leading to Chasov Yar. Their success will lead to the complete encirclement of the entire Ukrainian grouping in Bakhmut.
There are at least 10 brigades of the AFU, 1 regiment of the Special Forces, a nationalist battalion, which means in total about 20,000 servicemen, deployed in the Bakhmut region. These units have already suffered significant losses during the heavy battles, but still represent a significant grouping of troops that has maintained its combat readiness.
Kiev’s tactics in this sector of the front is to inflict maximum damage to the advancing Russian units. This will allow them to gain the time necessary for the transfer of new units formed from newly mobilized servicemen and foreign mercenaries equipped with modern Western equipment. The strategy of Kiev and NATO for the spring 2023 campaign is to concentrate a fresh strike force to conduct a counter offensive on one sector of the front against tired Russian troops.
So basically the Russian cannon fodder is getting slaughtered all across the line of contact while the Wagner freaks celebrate the possibility that a single village might be captured. Talk about setting terrorist priorities.

The régime is murderous and plays by no rules. As Edward Whymper wrote in his “Scrambles Amongst the Alps” (1871): “Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end”.
Russia should start using Tsar Bombs in some area to save Russia solders and end this war very quickly.

Would be immensely better in terms of moral if somehow the russians will encircle and catch some forces there. Still don’t know why they don’t use more the bigger denazificators, from FOAB 500 to 2500 since there is almost empty of civilians, because the battlefield is very suitable for that thing without big risks. I calculated that well placed 30 FOABS will crack the defense up to the middle part of the city in 3 days, debanderizating instantly hundreds or thousands of nazis and save many russian lives to fight another day elsewhere.
