The battle for the city of Severodonetsk continues. As of June 7, all the city districts are under control of Russian-led forces. Fighting continues in the industrial area, on the territory of the Azot chemical plant.
Russian Minister of Defence confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were repelled from the residential areas.
” Residential quarters of the city of Severodonetsk have been completely liberated. The takeover of its industrial zone and the nearest settlements continues. The offensive is developing in the Popasnaya direction.” – Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu claimed on June 7.

Despite the threat of the encirclement of the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan area, the Ukrainian military command continues reinforcement of the AFU units deployed in the region. According to local reports, the Ukrainian special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) headed by major general Kirilo Budanov were sent to Severodonetsk.

Despite the AFU efforts, Russian-led forces claim new victories in the region.
According to preliminary data, the village of Borovskoe located south of Severodonetsk came under LPR control. First reports came in the afternoon of June 7, however, they are yet to be confirmed.
The city of Lisichansk is yet to be surrounded. Clashes continue in the Zolotoe region, in the village of Vrubovka. Fighting for Ustinovka and Priviolie continues as well.

Ukrainian counter attacks are good for Russia as Ukraine loses huge numbers of troops and equipment in such attacks, much more then if they stuck with defending and using civilians as human shields. Its a Turkey shoot for Russian soldiers.
Ukraine can push back hard, they just have no ability to score meaningful operational or strategic victories. Ukraine can win fights and skirmishes, but they ultimately lose battles.
The Ukronazis will lose one town/village after another. Moreover, Zelenskyi’s government will negotiate sooner or later, whether it likes it or not. Or they will all go to hell!
The Ukraine is huge though. Even in WW2 it took both Germany and the USSR a lot of time to take and retake. At this pace both the Ukraine and Russia will run out of soldiers before the Donbass gets taken. Russia needs to put a serious stop to the flow of weapons that the West is pumping into the Ukraine. Only then will this war end sooner rather than later.

Russia is fighting the second biggest army in Europe, 7th biggest in the world, with the equivalent of its QRF. With full mobilization, Ukraine has the 4rd biggest army in the world, the size of the full active Russian army. Russia has to be very careful with its soldiers for this gamble to succeed. It is using a very methodical artillery heavy strategy, focusing on rear area bombardment and supply destruction, picking encirclements over pitched battles, and making huge use of National Republic troops, paramilitary forces, Rosgvardia, police agencies for occupation duty, and employing mercenaries, all to reduce the burden on the army. In the past couple months, the kill ratios have been astounding, something like 2 Ukrainians per every Russian, oftentimes more like 3 or 4 to 1, still, if the whole theater were cashed in, every tricolor for blue on yellow, at the most favorable rate, the Ukrainians still have a full 100,000 men remaining.
