The Bellingcat informational website has published ‘photo evidence’ of Russian or Syrian ‘airstrike’ on the UN humanitarian convoy in Syria.
The more time passes since the tragic incident with the UN humanitarian convoy in Syria, the more actively Western media join the cause, trying to present an “evidence of Russian and Syrian airstrike on the convoy.” In particular, we are talking about the Bellingcat informational website that has received wide and scandal notoriety in connection with its fakes about the ‘investigation’ of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing near Donetsk in 2014. This time, Bellingsat has published photos of fragments of the ‘Russian bomb’ on the ‘scene of the tragedy’ near Aleppo.
“Based on this [photos], it is possible to make an accurate identification of the munition debris recovered as coming from the tail section of the OFAB 250-270 high explosive fragmentation bomb,” the piece read. “OFAB 250-270s are unguided bombs previously documented as being used by both the Syrian and Russian air forces extensively in their bombing campaigns in Syria. These bombs, originating from the weapons factories of the USSR and Russian Federation, are not used by aircraft manufactured by NATO countries, nor are they used by Predator drones.”
Thus, the whole world should believe that the UN convoy was attacked by Russian or Syrian fighter jets, basing on the one photo.
According to the photos, Bellingcat presents the situation like an aerial bomb made a neat hole in the roof and even more neat landed in a pile of the boxes with UN medicines. The medicines were partially scattered, but no more. At the same time, the building is almost not affected.
But if the bombing was carried out with the OFABs, why there no pictures of other fragments of the bombs, as well as of other parts of the bombs? Or maybe fablers from Bellingcat want to say that the only one Russian ammunition was used?
A close examination of the photo allows to notice that the ‘OFAB’ worked so ‘unique’ that left only the stabilizer and no traces of debris on the walls after itself. This says only about one thing: someone brought on the scene the tail part of a Russian air bomb, but forgot to take care about plausible decorations, which occur after hitting a building with a 250-pound high-explosive bomb.
Regardless that it is obviously fabricated evidence ,it does show the power of ” publication”. Just that it was “published” means it can be “quoted as evidence”. Much the same as the photos of the burnt out trucks , but the road beneath is untouched . An operation designed to divert attention away from the USAF support of ISIS in Dayr az Zawr .
More like the power of stupidity… Anyone who understands ordnance or is or was EOD saw through that bullshit from the get go. Matter of fact he would not even post my rebuttals. Especially my last one.. Yes my signature sarcasm..
Well said
Well I guess you flunked the test of weapons fusing!
War Crimes. 50 hospitals were not enough? White Phosphorus bombs being used in Aleppo, bunker busting penetrating bombs? Putin has lost his mind, but what the hell he bankrupted your 3rd world country. Begging as you did in the 90’s will not be heard nor be responded to with the same charity.
Easy Tom! You’ll have a stroke. Realize it’s a war zone. Besides that there is a propaganda war going on. We (The US) lead that part of the war. The Russians have known this battle was winnable. We on the other hand as uninvited guests wonder through the ME with a chronic case of cranial rectal inversion. We deserve what ever we get here. If you’re an American I sure the hell hope your not going to vote for Hillary.
I am a real American. Not sure if you are an import or a mongrel. I have never voted for a (D) or an (I), never even entertained the notion, and I have never sucked Russian pecker either, but you got a mouthful of it. So why don’t you pack your family up and GTFO of my country, unless you are at least 7 generations maternally and paternally you are an import and need to go.
Yankistani Uh’Murikkkan icking fudiot…..
Go gooble russian schlong
I don’t mind people criticizing my government as I am quite critical as well. I just have to get involved here because you made a comment about all of us Americans. You’re just ashamed we had to save your pussy ass from Nazi Germany twice. My grandfather did it once and was wounded, and my father then went over and has his bomber shot down. Maybe this is why even my niece can kick your ass.
You must on the same page as Bellingcrap
Yep….troll of the day….or same guy with a different fake name.
If you really believe in the rebel reports of hospital bombings (where do you get that nice neat number 50 from?) than all of the hospitals in rebel territory should have been destroyed well over 6mo’s ago or even a year ago. Yet there continue to be allegations of new hospital bombings.
BTW the ‘White Helmets’ are funded by USAID and are only there to further U.S. State Dept. goal of undermining Assad’s govt. You are gullible to believe these allegations.
“Begging as you did in the 90’s will not be heard nor be responded to with the same charity.”
Charity? Breaking your promises and then expanding NATO to Russias border is a charity in your twisted drekked-up reptilian mind?
You are an idiot
Bellingcrap? get real! He must enjoy lies.
Bomb. convoy. undamaged goods laying attop devastation. yep. legit. well played. ? didnt think anyone but Saddam used the Baby Formula Factory method. All Pathos and nothing but. Signature of the Libbyturds
You “returds” do understand that this was a fragmentation bomb-right? does anyone here know how a fragmentation bomb is fused? anyone? come on don’t be shy?
Is this guy a Ukropi or Zio troll? Either way, what a nub-end…
1. A fragmentation bomb that close to the wall would have left many holes in it if was sheetrock or plywood and even if the walls are cement would would have left many markings precisely because it IS a fragmentation bomb.
2. It actually doesn’t make much sense for the Russians to use a fragmentation bomb if they were trying to destroy supplies or the building, a high explosive bomb would have been about 10x more effective.
It was a dud fragmentation OFAB 250-270, and probably older than you. Look for pictures and oxidation of the iron “rust”

Post WWII rules prohibit use of incendiary bombs in “High Density” civilian areas. Cities to be exact.
Yes in Fallujah by the americans. And Israel in Gaza city.
Your video is a nothing burger and you are either stupid or stupid. I suggest you watch it and then come back and point out where in the video-they have definitive and verifiable proof of anything. RT is owned and operated propaganda from Putain and Dugin GTFO!
The Russains have two commonly-used general purpose HE/fragmentation bombs: an OFAB 100-120 and 250-270. The standard fuze used on them is an AVU-/E/ET/ETM/ETMA. It’s a point detonation/impact fuse. It has to hit something to fire. The difference between the different AVU- series are arming delays and firing delays. They have no proximity or air burst option if that’s what you’re getting at. It was just a design choice.
Chris (below): Russian OFAB is a carryover from the original Soviet one. They chose to go with a combined HE/frag munition for their most widely-used general-purpose air-dropped munition instead of two separate frag-only or high-explosive variants. In most cases, they’re going to use an OFAB 100 or 250 for taking out structures. An OFAB 250-270 has 92 kilo charge. It would have been more than adequate to level that entire building if it exploded inside or on the roof.
What happens to a non penetrator “dud” munition when they go through rebar and hit a 2000psi concrete floor.
I answered your first question quite plainly. Why the hostility? At least do me the courtesy of explaining why you asked it. What point were you trying to make specifically with regard to fuzing?
Hostility? It didn’t explode- it went right through the concrete roof and the rebar and hit the floor. You stated correctly that it had a 92kg explosive that should have destroyed the building but it didn’t. Bellingcat had another photo with fragments from the casing. The explosive should be a yellow/yellow white material and the photo clearly show a white granular substance. A 250 lb bomb hitting a industrial floor and decelerating from 500+ miles an hour is not going to leave very much, but the picture shows a compressed tail section. It was a cold war dud.
Indeed the casing is so strong, it is likely to stay in one piece – Photo of unexploded OFAB posted by Elliot himself; http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I05qiJas9dk/UZs8Ep5y3RI/AAAAAAAABZ8/_fNbOvt6JNw/s1600/OFAB+100-120.jpg
What you say makes no sense. You keep babbling about a “dud”, but neither you, nor Bellingcat have any evidence to support your wildly outlandish claims.
They only have some tail fins, God-knows-from-where… but the rest of the bomb is not there, most likely because it had exploded. And if it had exploded, it would not have left such a cosy and habitable scene to photograph.
So if it was a dud where is the rest of the 250lb bomb, wouldn’t it leave behind unexploded ordnance or at least traces of TNT?
This is war, I dont understand why any convoys would be let through to rebel areas in the first place. The civilians have to flee to government controlled areas where they can receive help. If they stay with the rebels, in a very real sense they are rebels themselves and can be legitimately targeted.
East Aleppo is largely deserted and most remaining are supporters of Wahabbi Sunni domination and purging of ethnic & religious minorities.
The SAA should simply let loose and send these neanderthal chimpanzees on a one-way flaming descent to Satansville…. economy ticket – standing room only and no meals
This is war, why let any relief columns through at all to rebel controlled areas? Let the civilian come to government controlled areas for help, food and medicine. Civilians who are staying with the rebels are in a real sense terrorists themselves and can be legitimately targeted.Leaflets should be dropped in Aleppo and people told to evacuate the town. Then what is left can be bombed out, firebombed with phosphorus just like Dresden in World War 2. Firebomb the place so that fighting can stop as soon as possible and lives are saved.
A deal is a deal. The Syrian govt agreed to it and has agreed to these arrangements many times in the past. The Syrian govt has let aid convoys into other even more isolated rebel territories without harming convoys, why would they start attacking them now? (they didn’t).
Syrian gov played fair and enforced a ceasefire (and refused to respond to terrorist provocations), while the US and its terrorist proxies cheated as usual with a deliberate attack on Deir Ezzors defenders and an AQ false flag attack on the UN.
Crush the foat-guckers of East Aleppo and march on to Idlib.
The medicine packages look just-off- the-shelf pristine. But the Bomb fragment is caked with a thick coating of earth; looks like it was dug up after being buried in the soil for an extended time. Dear Bellingcat: why not just come right out and say you think your readers are stupid.
If you go on Bellingcat’s website, discussions are a bit more complicated than what appears in the present article. Not from the part of Bellingcrap who is a zio troll, but at the comment’s section. I invite you to look more closely at the arguments of those who put comments on his website, especially regarding the mode of detonation of the bomb. Some say that it has detonated above the roof (air fuse), which explains that only the tail was in the crater (this looks suspicious to me, and another commentary says that russians don’t have air fuse bombs among their arsenal), some others say that it only partially exploded. Syrian an Russian governements should play full transparency with maps, full explanations. Given what’s at stake (the international credibility of Russia and Syria), having 10 experts working full time on the subject in order to provide full and easily understandable information (with maps and pictures and diagrams etc), doesn’t look too far fetched to me. Is it normal that the debunking of the Goutha chemical attack came from the MIT, an american institution ? Definitively not !!!
To his credit, Bellingcat is allowing skeptics to post on his website. My take on the skeptics is that their is no way that this bomb exploded because of the condition of the area, the wall, roof, and medicine. If it was a dud then where is the rest of the bomb? They should find unexploded ordnance.
I recently posted on his site (since yesterday), and I must tell you that he censored all my posts. Some of them sent links to a december 10th Voltairenetwork paper named “where will the Ukrainian bombs explode ?” http://www.voltairenet.org/article189607.html Interestingly, we learn in that paper that Qatar bought in december 2015 OFAB 250/270 bombs, the same model as the one put forward by bellingcat, in spite of the fact that Qatari planes (Mirage 2000 and some other western-built planes), cannot bear such bombs. this affair reminds me of Mr Fabius (former foreign minister of what was called long time ago “France”), telling at the french radios in 2013, that some “cyrillic letters” where visible on the remains of the rockets of the chemical attack on Goutha suburbs of Damascus, on august 2013. the info was, at the time, also put forward by the notorious “bellingcat”. Since then, it’s been proven by armament experts of the MIT, Mr Lloyd and Mr Postol in an official document, that the rockets couldn’t have been fired by syrian troops, which wwere at the time too far away, given the range of the rockets equipped with chemical load, which had a more important drag than those with conventionnal load. But the western msm never passed correctly that information which did not follow correctly the “western narrative”
Jackass – no one is basing the claim on one photo of a dud bomb. Look at the convoy trucks themselves. Look at the FACTS – only the two RUSSIAN jets were in the airspace.
Only the UK, US, its allies and the gulliblle sheep use information supplied by Eliot Higgins.

Well, actually, I noticed it myself and wrote in then at their site… if they have not deleted it, you can still read it.
The gist of my comment was that they should spend less time poring over maps and drawing rectangles over pictures and devote more time to thinking.
Their problem is that they serve a propaganda purpose which drives them beyond simple analyses of facts. Thus—to put it euphemistically—they strain the evidence and make extraordinary effort to reach insane conclusions. They ought to take up the Ockham’s razor and give their theories some decent shaving.
And that it does not take a Sherlock Holmes or a Hercule Poirot to figure out that their conclusions ultimately make no sense. I think that their conclusion was that it was a Russian bomb because that artifact looked like tail the fins of a Russian bomb. That is quite possible (after all, by that time the moderate terrorists must have had many opportunities to obtain some tail fins of a Russian bomb), but the location of the bomb “somehow” precluded the credibility of the Bellingcat’s tale… and the only thing to which it pointed was… that it had been most likely deliberately planted there.
