It is just a coincidence. The Baltic Sea is bubbling with gas escaping from the pipelines of the two Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines but it is only a coincidence that US President Joe Biden, on 7 February, in a joint conference with German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz, threatened to block those lines.
Talking with the German colleague, U.S. President Joe Biden warned that if Russia invades Ukraine, there would be no Nord Stream 2, but did not specify how he would go about ensuring the controversial pipeline would not be used. Speaking at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Biden said, “If Russia invades… again, then there will be longer Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.” When asked how he would do that, he responded, “I promise you we will be able to do it.”
Biden’s prophecy has come true. According to the reconstructions of the Danish government, the two lines of the Nord Stream, 1 and 2, suffered “unprecedented” damage in three places in the stretch of the Baltic Sea between Denmark and Sweden. The Ukrainian and Polish governments and the US administration speak of sabotage by the Kremlin. But they have no proof.
According to the US government, gas leaks from Nord Stream are under investigation, as early reports indicate that they were caused by an attack. With this statement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, on the sidelines of a press conference held in Washington, hinted that the Russian government was involved in the damage. NATO is also closely monitoring the situation in the Baltic Sea. The allies are examining the circumstances of the gas leaks and exchanging information, including with Finland and Sweden, “an Atlantic Alliance official explained, referring to the gas leaks from the Nord Stream pipeline.
The submarine explosions would have hit three lines of the pipeline and according to the German operator that manages the network “it is impossible at this moment to estimate the timing for the resumption of the restoration operations” of the infrastructure. Gas leaks from Nord Stream pipelines are expected to last “at least a week” according to the Danish government. For Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the damage was caused by “deliberate acts”.

Project volume of annual gas transportation via “Baltic pipe” is 10 billion cubic meters. Norway has 2,5 to sell, there is no more additional gas for Poland. If only Germany will share their supplies, but it won’t happen i guess.
