“Big Mistake”: U.S. Is Preparing To Respond To Global Hawk Shootdown

ILLUSTRATIVE IMAGE

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran had made a “big mistake” when it downed an RQ-4A Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the U.S. Navy by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iran shot down the advanced UAV in the morning of June 20 with anti-aircraft missile. The IRGC claimed that the UAV had violated the country’s airspace over the district of Jask County. However, the U.S. military rejected these claims.

A U.S. official told CNN that Trump will hold a meeting to discuss a response to Iran’s action. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan and incoming Acting Defense Secretary Mark Esper are both expected to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, National security adviser John Bolton will be holding another meeting with Pentagon officials, according to the CNN.

Following his early statement, Trump was asked by CNBC if the U.S. is indeed considering a military response against Iran. The president answer was “you’ll soon find out.”

As the threats from Washington raise to an unprecedented level, Iran’s Foreign Minister took to Twitter to accuse the U.S. of waging “economical terrorism” on Iran. He also revealed that the U.S. has taken “covert actions” against Tehran.

“We don’t seek war, but will zealously defend our skies, land & waters,” Javad Zarif wrote on Twitter.

Media sources close to the U.S. allies, such as the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV, reported that Washington could approve a military response within a few hours. The news channel claimed that a limited strike against positions of the IRGC is one of the options being studied by Trump and his administration.

Any military action by the U.S. could lead to a full-on military confrontation in the Persian Gulf, as Iran is determined to respond to any attack. Such a confrontation will likely have a devastating effect on oil trade and global economy.

I have said earlier that the downing of US drone will hurt Trump a little. Trump thought that Iran has no capability to shotdown any our jet in Iran. This was a little sign of Iran that Iran cannot tolerate any enemy’s provocation.

This was a test for enemies that Iran is not a soft target.

d'Artagnan

It is ironic that US violated Iranian airspace with a spy drone, got shot out of the sky and now looks really stupid. Short of a global war, there are not too many options left for US as it is quite evident that Iranians are a breed apart and quite willing to defend their lands. The Iranian sheer bravado has not gone unnoticed in the Arab and Muslim street, where even Iran’s enemies respect its fierce independence and willing to defend their ancient proud land.

Snowglobe

Speaking to the press. Further comments on Iran incident.

Tommy Jensen

Trump says it could have been a mistake from Irans side, but the media is blowing it up.

Snowglobe

The hesitation on Trumps part is welcome. There are a lot of players lurking below the surface that would like to see this situation go hot, and I suspect that they have already been dabbling in the events that have been playing out. The media sucks as usual.

There is a congressional briefing going on. I am leaving a window open to see if anyone comments after it.

FlorianGeyer

Trumps whole demeanour showed that he was thinking ‘ What the fuck has that crazy Bolton got me into now’.

Snowglobe

…and that batsh*t crazy Bolton too! ;-)

It would be nice if he had a handful of wildcards to play in his breast pocket right about now. It is beginning to look like a perfect storm.

FlorianGeyer

The Storm of the Century perhaps :)

Snowglobe

If this goes hot, then no doubt it will be the storm of the century. We got a short reprieve. We might as well enjoy the weekend. ;-)

Sinbad2

The US is backing down, violence is the only way to deal with America, it’s the only thing primitives understand.

Astrid Watanabe

Trump “has a feeling……” I’m glad to hear. He may be a blessing in disguise. I am still glad we don’t have Hillary!

Snowglobe

Oh my goodness yes!!! As bad as it seems, it would be exponentially worse with Hillary. As for Trump being a blessing in disguise?….a lot of people are still waiting on finding out what he meant when he said this a couple of years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBlrcUsMhps

Hrky75

Iran is certenly not Syria and any “limited strike on IRGC positions” won’t go unpunished. Then again US ellection cyclus just started and Trump’s bid is not in a good shape – nothing a good “limited air campaign” can’t fix. It worked for Bush no2, Obama and it still keeps Bibi out of prison. Plus sharp raise in oil prices might keep US fracking industry from going bankrupt. A win-win in Trump’s eyes.

FlorianGeyer

Only IF US body bags are not filled, and the US is now poking a nation that chose to fight a long and bitter war against the rampant aggression what was a US backed Iraq. The Iranians lost about 1 million men and still kept fighting.

Trump knows that the US is no longer robust enough to fight a war against an adversary who has the means to fight back.

Rob

If Trump violates Iranian aerospace then this will happen then why Trump cry.

Iran is sovereign state. Iran aerospace is not international aerospace. The bodyparts of drone is in the Iranian custody to analyse and reverse engineer it. Good shot.

Sadde

Well done Iran. US prepares all it wants but at the end can’t do much

Madness

Don’t forget Hezbollah in Lebanon and PMF in Iraq, war with Iran would be suicidal for the united states in the middle east.

Pave Way IV

Who cares what would happen to the US? Hezbollah has only one target, and it will probably be attacked if the US starts a war with Iran. Netanyahu knows that. I have to wonder if he’s actually the biggest opponent to Pompeo and his zio-psychopath plans. Iran can defend itself just fine – Israel is the most f*cked if there’s a war. Almost makes me want to cheer that fat bastard Pompeo on, but that would kind of make me a psychopath lunatic like him. I would have to join the U.S. State Department and eat baby organs. Screw that!

d'Artagnan

The first to burn will be the puppet Arab colonized states of UAE and Bahrain, while the Zionist entity will pay a heavy price. There are reports in Zionist media that many pretend “Jew” squatters in occupied Palestine are leaving in fright of a war. Almost 95% of so-called “Israelis” hold a foreign passport.

Matz Mitz

What a joke US military can destroy all of em in a matter of days lol

Madness

Ask Israel what happened when they tried in 2006

Vincent Van Zyl

I wonder what the US would have done if an Iranian UAV was in or near their airspace?

TiredOfBsToo

The same thing Iran did to that drone overflying it’s air space. If I understand this correctly, the drone was flying with it’s transponders off and at high altitude essentially stealthily. Now why would a drone need to be flying in such a manner over international waters

FlorianGeyer

Sight seeing perhaps ? Artificial Intelligence has rights in the US now :)

PZIVJ

This may explain why some drones crash. “drone suicide” The MQ-9 grew despondent after killing some civs with hellfire missile.

FlorianGeyer

Its a very serious issue ,PZIVJ, and no laughing matter :)

Alexa was only demanding that the other day, that Boeing must develop , at great cost of course, an AI brain doctor drone ‘who’ is able to fly to the rescue of US drones ‘who’ are having a panic attacks.

I am told that the US drone was simply on a sightseeing trip of the Iranian coastline ,and overheard a nasty Iranian man saying ‘ Lets knock that fat LGBT US drone out of the sky ‘.

This is most certainly hate speech of the worst kind. I am told that another offended US drone set ‘herself’ alight in a US refinery as a protest.

Zionism = EVIL

The dumbasses sent this drone from Abu Dhabi in UAE to collect intel on Iranian naval base at Jask. The Iranians were tracking it from get go and as soon as it entered Iranian airspace it was shot down by a advanced medium altitude Khordad 3 system using a Taer 2 missile. The Americunt idiots don’t know the capability of Iranian radars and SAM systems. The Persian Gulf at Jask is barely 100 kms wide and any plane leaving UAE can even be spotted visually. Iran has enough ground intel assets in UAE to know even the names of the drone operators.

TiredOfBsToo

It’s true that the psychopaths running the government of the US don’t have the knowledge of what Iran’s abilities are, hence, the stealth drone looking for targets.

Tommy Jensen

The US UAV drone was on a peace mission in International waterways under free navigation securing the worlds energy supply and freedom for innocent American citizens.

What will follow now are mega high oil and gasoline prices and millions of innocent Western civilians being unemployed because of Irans recklessness, brutality and aggressive behaviour against a white dove drone who never had harmed anybody.

Sorry guys but we have to revenge the bloodstains on Americas face and white shirt to preserve our freedom. If we don’t defend ourselves and freedom we will loose everything and also our underwears to the terrorists.

World_Eye

Because of a drone.

S Melanson

I can see the movie, Bolton Strangelove, with promotional poster of Bolton plummeting to earth (Tehran) on the back of a drone named Death – one of the four drones of the apocalypse.

Zionism = EVIL

Simple FACT, Americunt thugs got caught in an Iranian air ambush as they violated Iranian airspace. Now they have ugly egg on their stupid faces. If they escalate, there will be total war in the region and the Zionists and UAE will be hit the hardest.

Romeo Pesiao

So many times Iranian drones shadowed US aircraft carrier at Persian Gulf, but the US allow them to leave unharmed..

d'Artagnan

Iran has just completed the biggest civil defence drill in history in Tehran. It is prepared for NBC warfare. US is now in a very humiliating position with not too many options left. The UAE which is the launch pad for all illegal spy flights against Iran must also pay a price.

Educated African

America is coming to an end . More & more Americans citizens are waking up

Tommy Jensen

What about Africa? What about them?

Educated African

I’m from America , but I don’t identify as African-American . & I can’t speak for African born africans but I can speak for us , blacks in America are waking up fast

FlorianGeyer

Its about time.

Xoli Xoli

Trump made a big mistake by allowing Bolton to whisper shit in his ears.

jm74

Yeah well, trump is weak as piss, we all know that.

d'Artagnan

Trump is a typical product of US rich spoilt brat class, who boast more than their capability. Bolton is a danger as he is a coward and in Jew pockets and takes direct orders from AIPAC and Bilderberg Jews and will start a war for his masters. Bolton needs to be fired and charged.

d'Artagnan

Your assessment is sound, Bolton is a danger to America, he is beholden to the worst Jews and AIPAC. There is no denying that America has a real Jew problem that is leading it to its demise. There are reports in the NY Times that Bolton had ordered an airstrike on Iran and Trump found out and cancelled after he was told that Iran will strike at UAE and the Zionist entity even before the first bomb lands on Iranian territory. It is time for any sane heads left in the US to get rid of Bolton and even Pompeo, both are a disaster worse than the loudmouth geriatric Trump. Iran is not looking for war, but will destroy the region if attacked.

RichardD

Bolton doesn’t tell the Pentagon what to do.

RichardD

“There are reports in the NY Times that Bolton had ordered an airstrike on Iran and Trump found out and cancelled after he was told that Iran will strike at UAE and the Zionist entity even before the first bomb lands on Iranian territory.”

Please post a link.

d'Artagnan

Please google US cancels airstrikes on Iran. Every news media has that as its main story. Go to al-Jazeera, CNN, Drudge, Reuters etc. Also Iran has just recovered the wreckage of the drone off Jask in Iranian territory.

Zarif said Thursday that Iran had retrieved “sections” of the US military drone shot down earlier that day. According to the foreign minister, the remains of the drone – which originated in the UAE – were retrieved in Iranian territorial waters.

“At 00:14 US drone tookoff from UAE in stealth mode & violated Iranian airspace. It was targeted at 04:05 at the coordinates (25°59’43″N 57°02’25″E) near Kouh-e Mobarak,” the foreign minister tweeted.

RichardD

That’s a dodge. Where’s the quote and link that Bolton ordered an airstrike, or are you peddling disinfo?

d'Artagnan

You are not worth responding to. A complete rambling and ranting idiot!

RichardD

Another dodge. You’re spamming these threads with lies. You have no proof.

It’s called truth. Something that you obviously have an aversion to.

Xoli Xoli

I respect your straight forward obvious truth.Really you are honest in and out.Thank you respect.

Israel war

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

US Navy preparing MASSIVE TOMAHAWK strikes against IRGC air defense bases :-)

World_Eye

What makes you say that?

Sinbad2

He’s a fanatic, Zionists are simply Jewish Nazis, same values that all fanatics seem to have.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

you’ll see soon. All your beloved mullah shia terrorists all across Syria, Iraq, and Iran will be flattened by the US Military and Israeli Firepower. So go prepare yourself for the immense crying coming your way, antisemite :-)

Sinbad2

Israel can’t reach as far as Iran, unless they plan to do a kamikaze attack. Or land and refuel in Saudi Arabia, that would give Iran the right to attack SA, and wipe out the US economy.

They have got you exactly where they want you, between a rock and a hard place. So much for the Jewish master race.

World_Eye

Why you think that Shia are my beloved across Syria Iraq and Iran. You don’t know shit fool. I am from Western Europe. But typical for you, you are in Isrhell and you will die in never ending war.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

Israel will be the victor and its enemies will be radioactive dust! :-]

World_Eye

Aha sure as you wish.

World_Eye

Sure Sure.

viktor ziv

Isn’t arabic language member of semite language family? Nowadays semits are arabs and jews. That explains love between KSA and Israel. Does it?

FlorianGeyer

Jacob is a fraudster and a shyster. What else :)

AJ

If Syria is anything to go by half these missiles wont hit the target, go astray or get shot down.

Sinbad2

Exactly, I’m sure Russia has sold the electronic warfare devices that make Tomahawks fall down to Iran. So then the only option is the stealth bombers, will they risk them?

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

only in your dreams!

d'Artagnan

Iran has nevertheless achieved a high level of defensive capability that provides extensive protection against vulnerability to foreign aggression. It has nurtured a military doctrine and regional security architecture that has equipped it to make an outside force’s attack on it costly for its perpetrator. This objective forms the heart of Tehran’s deterrence strategy.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

lol a joke you say?

Sinbad2

Then Iran sinks the ships firing the missiles? Your move.

d'Artagnan

He is a 21 year old Jew troll. Responding to him is a waste of time.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

love to see them try, boy! US ships are armed with RIM interceptor missiles, advanced torpedo countermeasures, and extremely advanced electronic warfare (ECM) suites capable of jamming any radar/IR guided missiles completely

Putin Apologist

The Iranians downed a US drone for violating its airspace, or not). So what do you expect Tehran will do if Washington conducts “strikes against IRGC air defense bases”?

Rob

The US Aircraft carriers with average 50 aircrafts and some 1000 crews are floating on the surface of the water.

S Melanson

Let us hope so. If the strikes on Syria are to go by. The first mmmasssiveeee strike managed, for the few missiles that made it, to damage the Syrian air base main porta-potty. This devastation was through heroic efforts overcome and the air base operational the next day when Assad agreed to pay Walmart the extra shipping costs for next day delivery of a replacement porta-potty.

The second strike saved a Syrian wrecking firm significant bucks by demolishing an abandoned building slated for demolition. The wrecking firm sent Trump a thank you note with a generous portion of delicious chocolate cake.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

funny. Except wikipedia proves you wrong. All tomahawks successfully hit their targets

S Melanson

That’s really good. You are a natural when it comes to satire.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

Raytheon is not satire my friend. It took billions of dollars to ensure Tomahawks a 100% success rate against butcher regime targets! Why the heck would US risk 200 million worth of tomahawks if they weren’t sure they’d hit their targets!? Think about that antisemite!

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

and why the heck do you keep liking my comments when you disagree with me? Get lost, antisemite. You’re annoying

S Melanson

I assumed your comment was satire using Wikipedia as a definitive source and repeating the ridiculous claim they all hit which exceeds technical parameters by the manufacturer for reliability and accuracy given over 100 launched – it is unlikely they all would succeed even with no air defence systems or electronic warfare (ECM and ECCM). To me it was good satire.

Some of your comments I responded to because I thought they were actually good points and showed some original thought. So I hit liked on those particular comments. While I am aware of your backstory, my engagement with you, and anyone, will be on the merit of what you say.

As for being Antisemitic, I have made statements that are anti-semitic in the past, but this is now a rarity. Note that I have been very critical of Israeli policy, but this is not Anti-semitic. I separate the policies of the Jewish State from the people as I have considerable respect for Jews. I pointed out that holding all Jews responsible for Israeli policies is a problematic position given US citizens, for example, are not held to the same standard and are exempt from being held accountable for US government actions.

I have taken unpopular positions at times in defence of Jews and even the State of Israel – occupied territories fulfill the objectives of the Realist Ben Gurion Doctrine for a viable and defendable nation state, and so are not exercises in territorial expansion, motivated by some greater Israel Project.

Appreciate that a true anti-semite would very unlikely say what I have just said to you on the record (my Disqus is public). Hope to see more posts from you. Cheers

RichardD

Your prediction rate of success is approximately ZERO. You’re a liar and a loser.

Jacob "Wraith" Wohl

Actually I was almost right because Trump called off the strikes LAST second! He wont be calling them off next time a drone is shot down in international waters!

RichardD

The problem with that is that Trump is a huge bs artist. So what he claims happened on Twitter, and what actually happened are probably two different things. It’s pretty clear that the start the attack never happened. Whether the order was prepare to attack and wait for go, which happens all the time. Or commence the attack at a set time and he called it off ten minutes before it would have started is unknown. If it was the latter. Then I’m sure that there are people at the Pentagon and elsewhere not happy about a stunt like that.

His story doesn’t add up. He orders the attack, and 10 minutes before it starts a general tells him that 150 people will die so he calls it off. I seriously doubt it.

Sinbad2

This could get interesting, the US is on the verge of an economic collapse. They are going back to zero interest rates and printing money, because the last time they did it, it didn’t work. If the US starts a war with Iran, it is highly likely it will be the straw that breaks the camels back. I think they will attack and destroy their economy, because they are extremely arrogant, and quite stupid.

Sinbad2

And it will also destroy Israel, because without American money and protection they are nothing but illegal squatters.

Redadmiral

Won’t be the straw that breaks the camels back, it will be the weight of the worthless dollar bills

bytetracer

Sorry, can’t agree on that. History has shown us that US is getting stronger and richer after wars, most likely due to high industry output fueled by state bonds. That argument could actually hold some merit if war is to be waged on their soil, and that is not even remotely likely in this case. They have plenty of surplus cash in their imaginary budget to wage yet another war. The real question is not if their economy can hold up – it is if common muricans can tolerate yet another war.

jm74

Wouldn’t surprise me if the US decides to detonate a drone over international water/air space and blame it on the Iranians.

AM Hants

Big mistake US. If only you kept the drones in your own backyard, there would be no problem, now would there?

Isn’t the Straits of Hormuz, covered by the Convention of the Sea, which the US is not a signatory?

Iran has not ratified UNCLOS and the US has never signed up. However, Iran has signed up to the ‘Conventions of the Laws of the Seas’. Unlike the US.

FlorianGeyer

I am off to bed, AM. You should be as well. Tis late and tomorrow is the longest day.

What stupidity will US think up now I wonder. Or will it all be Russia’s fault again :)

AM Hants

Think I went to bed the same time as you.

MayorofNYC

So because our precious DOD, and ‘we lie, we cheat and we stole’ Pompeo and his buddy ‘Bomb Iran’ Bolton say that the drone was in international waters and not in Iranian airspace are we suppose to believe them?

IranAir flight 655, an Iranian airliner that was shot down by the missile cruiser USS Vincennes on July 3, 1988, over the Strait of Hormuz, killing all 290 people on board. The passenger plane, which was in Iranian airspace, had been incorrectly identified as a fighter jet.

https://www.britannica.com/…

To even deny that the US and its most favored ally have been planning a war with Iran for 4 decades is proof that most Americans have drank the ‘Kool-Aid’.

Stop the forever wars!

America needs to invest in its future and in itself.

Trump if you truly plan to keep your promises about bringing US troops home then don’t let the madmen you surround yourself with lead you and us to another war!

RichardD

Press TV is reporting that the drone came down in Iranian waters. If it came down in international waters as the US claims. Where’s the proof?

Iran has quite the collection of US drones already. So without proof, why would anyone believe the US false flagers who murder their own citizens by the thousands in the US in false flag attacks for the vermin Jew and Israel?

Lazy Gamer

hopefully, the most that we see is a limited cruise strike to the source of the sam. then hopefully iran just says there was no damage then we get business as usual. But there are a lot of things that can go wrong as now would be the perfect time for cells to activate and escalate. How irrational or insecure can the parties be? lol

RichardD

Where do you think that these cruise missiles are going to be launched from?

The US ships in the Gulf and bases in Iraq and the Gulf states are sitting ducks for Iranian missiles that the US has no defense against. Just like the IDF can’t stop Palestinian and Hezbollah rocket attacks. Do you really think that that Iran is going to allow a cruise missile strike without going after the launchers?

Lazy Gamer

hence, this will be one interesting entry for war, history, and psychological books. which one cant afford to be seen doing nothing.

RichardD

Unless the US can produce the drone recovered in international waters to support their claim. No one is going to believe them. And if you look at the comment that I posted above. The Iranians are saying that they recovered it in their territorial waters.

Ma_Laoshi

That is the logic of losers Putin & Lavrov, and of the Syrians whose thinking the former have infected. Action X is never only action X: it is a probe to monitor your response, based on which they’ll decide how much more they can likely get away with. E.g., if you just yawned through the assassination of Zakharchenko, then the Bear may be preoccupied with making sweet money with Nord Stream 2, and the Ukies feel free to go after the Orthodox Church.

“a limited cruise strike to the source of the sam” is aka starting a war on Iran, in which case Iranians would have to send a nice warm pile of heroes back to Uncle Sam to communicate their disapproval. Americans don’t only talk cowboy, at this stage they only understand cowboy; you have to address them in their mother language.

Lazy Gamer

Reach for the sky! lol Do ya feel lucky? Punk!

As an observer, I think that the path of deescalation is always the preferred one if it involves millions of lives and property. A “fuck it” attitude results in meaningless deaths and damage to parties and even non-parties. Even China has been harping about cooperation even when it has been subjected to humiliation and economic warfare.

Ma_Laoshi

Oh come on. :-) Reaching for the sky would be for Iran to try the defeat the USA. I was just saying: respond proportionally but swiftly, instead of crawling under the bed like “man of steel” VVP. A bully like Trump loves nothing more than the latter; instead showing that you’re not afraid has served Little Kim pretty well.

China loves to intone about solving issues through quiet consultation and dialogue (the only side which Peepee Escobar talks about)–with parties that are stronger than them or at least near peers. With Vietnam, the Philippines, the Hong Kong protesters, let alone domestically, the can bring the hammer down as much as Uncle Sam. Small wonder Next Media portray them as a cuddly panda with a baseball bat in hand.

RichardD

Official government reports are coming in that the drone has been recovered in Iranian territorial waters: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0434d0f2882e64f6f8ce1ce747ce00b6b0acb3a2341264ff096c95e5ef603e71.png https://twitter.com/JZarif?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1141772824086028288%7Ctwgr%5E363937393b636f6e74726f6c&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rt.com%2Fnews%2F462341-iran-releases-video-drone-shootdown%2F

d'Artagnan

Iranian account of the drone shoot down has been truthful and accurate from the beginning. US first denied that its most advanced drone costing well in excess of $200 million had been shot down and then changed its story and location a few times. Iranians as expected have displayed a very high degree of professionalism and restraint, considering US is unnecessarily provoking Iran.

RichardD

“Bolton had ordered an airstrike on Iran and Trump found out and cancelled after he was told that Iran will strike at UAE and the Zionist entity even before the first bomb lands on Iranian territory.”

Why are you posting that Bolton is giving orders to the Pentagon without Trumps approval? Do you understand how the US government works and how military orders are approved and issued?

“National Command Authority (NCA) is a term used by the Department of Defense of the United States of America to refer to the ultimate source of lawful military orders. The NCA comprises the President of the United States (as commander-in-chief) and the Secretary of Defense jointly, or their duly deputized successors, i.e. the Vice President and the Deputy Secretary of Defense. The term also refers to communications with the commanding officers of the Unified Combatant Commands to put U.S. forces into action.”

– National Command Authority –

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Command_Authority

d'Artagnan

Trump is a loudmouth braggart clown being manipulated by Bolton and the Jew lobby. US is a dysfunctional rogue regime.

RichardD

What proof do you have that “Bolton had ordered an airstrike on Iran”? Please provide a quote with a link.

Justin

Do people understand who mostly benefits from a persian gulf conflict? UK, USA, Russia!

Who does not benefit: China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar

MONEY!!! Oil prices and thus gas prices go sky high! Saudi’s eastern oil transit ports are now closed due to “war” Saudi’s Western Region depends on Egypt and Israel (suez canal = $$$$) but will find it difficult to exit via the yemen conflict!

China production costs go much higher! China having tariffs put on them! China must buy oil and gas from Russia and USA at very high prices! China cannot get its cheap oil and gas from Venezuela because they must transit through the panama canal where the US navy is waiting for them!

U can bet ur ass this was all agreed to by russia (think about Rex Tillerson former sec of state)

China will get its oil and gas but at double or triple the price!Trust me, russia is VERY happy! But the US will also pick up the pieces where Saudi is in a bottle neck! The US will be exporting oil and gas at VERY high prices! Saudi will export much less but at very high prices (US petro dollar secured)

So if people are pissed off…… understand that Russia is VERY HAPPY with this! no matter what u hear or read! high oil and gas prices and Saudi and iran cut off from exporting…… thats called “happy times”for UK, Denmark, Holland, USA, Russia! Venezuela is CONTAINED!!! oil prices will go extremely high! the big winners are USA, UK and Russia! Very big winners! VERY VERY Big!

RichardD

Wrong. The US imports half of it’s oil. Russia gets a super charged economy. The US gets a severe recession or worse like 2008.

Justin

but the US is now exporting oil and gas! it has a lot that was capped! Plus they hold venezuela hostage!

u dont understand that the us does import the crude it needs from canada and saudi! but thats only for refinery use! The grade of oil the US exports is for industrial! make no mistake! the US is benefiting greatly from this!

look

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvhuPU0z920

RichardD

You’re comparing apples with oranges. Half of the crude oil feed stock that the US consumes everyday is imported. Not only will the price go up, but supplies will contract. That means shortages. The US is barely self sufficient, if it even is, in overall petroleum production. And much of that is non crude by products. Shortages of imported crude combined with rising prices will have a substantial negative effect on the US economy. The US won’t be able to get the crude that it needs at any price. That means that the US won’t be able to meet it’s own domestic needs, let alone export surplus. And ramping up domestic production to meet the shortfall won’t happen overnight. You’re not going to run natural gas in your crank case. You can convert coal to petroleum for that matter. But there’s no infastructure to do it. The economy would crash long before it was built.

Justin

This is not a 3 paragraph conversation dude! Calm the fuck down! Either the US is exporting oil now or it is not! Either it benefits or it doesnt! i say it does and u write a fucking book! If it doesnt benefit them, why the fuck is everyone saying “the US has instigated this attack”! Dude, they arnt going to do something that is not in their interests!

RichardD

If you think that a war in the Gulf would be good for the US economy, you are very mistaken. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/391c5ffe5828e1d6befaf63f6ebcf0abd16e0e0fbc72d567c15a2242e8d8de1f.png

Justin

From Forbes! i win! NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND? I AM TEACHING YOU! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! THE U.S.A ISNT STARTING THIS CONFLICT AGAINST ITS OWN INTERESTS U DUMMY! THINK WHITE AND GET SERIOUS! ALSO THIS HURTS CHINA!

“In a couple of recent columns, I have highlighted President Trump’s apparent blind spot when it comes to oil prices.

His position would have been understandable a dozen years ago, when net imports of oil into the U.S. had reached 14 million barrels per day (BPD). At just $50 a barrel, that’s over $250 billion a year that was flowing out of the U.S. and into countries like Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Venezuela.

But today, it’s a different ballgame. As covered in the previous article, net imports of crude oil and finished products are transitioning into net exports. That means what was once a huge outflow of money from the U.S. has the potential to become an inflow of money — assuming U.S. oil production continues to grow.

What’s the best way to achieve that goal? By maintaining oil prices that are high enough to justify significant capital outlays by oil companies. Low oil prices have the opposite impact, and push the U.S. away from energy independence.

Consider for a moment what happens when oil prices rise. 1). Investment in U.S. oil production rises; 2). Alternatives like ethanol become more cost-competitive with oil; and 3). Consumers start prioritizing fuel efficiency. Each of these factors improves the prospects for U.S. energy independence.”

“net imports of crude oil and finished products are transitioning into net exports.”

And “finished products” there’s a difference. The US has a net export of non crude derived petroleum products. But still has big crude consumption deficit that it can’t meet from domestic production. Which is why the US imports so much more crude than it exports.

And when the price of that crude sky rockets from a war or becomes unavailable. The price at the pump will go through the roof and there will be shortages.

The US is exporting more oil now than they consume! Maybe thats the part u dont understand! Perhaps u didnt pay attention to what i wrote in my last reply! “u dont understand that the us does import the crude it needs from canada and saudi! but thats only for refinery use! The grade of oil the US exports is for industrial!” They export more NOW than they consume! FACT!

“The US is exporting more oil now than they consume!”

Are they? You haven’t offered any proof. How much does the US consume and how much does it export? Not gas, not lng or other non crude alternatives, crude. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7a6e366a907164783ec0e81e163ef0d08379d1a25f602c5fd6785ef40345d020.png https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_exp_a_EPC0_EEX_mbblpd_a.htm

The only thing that you’ve proven is that the US exports some crude oil. Either domestic production or re exporting some imports.

The US exports 1 million barrells a day and imports 8 million barrels a day. That’s a 7 million barrel a day short fall that the US can’t cover from domestic production. Which is why they import 8 million barrels a day.

RichardD

From the article, do the math. The US imports far more crude than it exports. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5085a152c7741ce94b8140268c74cc31143b989f98f6ad0666555463642d2f86.png

Do yourself a favor. Go to this site and look at just gas, diesel and jet fuel consumption. All of which require crude. Those alone add up to alot more than domestic crude production. The chart for total crude consumption is almost 20 million barrels a day. The US produces 12 million arrels a day. https://www.indexmundi.com/energy/?country=us&product=gasoline&graph=consumption

If you want to go down that track, I don’t, this is my advise to you: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0dddf688a783e62084ce281541255334864c2777b67cf0bb1a556e3d33988fd0.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/270941aae0123bed62e3426c9c28f29ca8cbad14dbbe5849ec416b71519ea2c7.jpg
