On January 5, Boko Haram fighters attacked a position of the Nigirian Army in the village of Knma in the northeastern Brono state, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. Three soldiers of the Nigerian Army were killed by Boko Haram fighters in the attack. Moreover, ISIS fighters captured two vehicles of the Nigerian Army and many light and heavy weapons including mortars, RPGs and machine guns.

The attack was likely carried by the Abu-Musab al-Barnawi branch of Boko Haram, which was loyal to ISIS because the attack was reported by Amaq. Abu-Musab al-Barnawi was appointed by ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as the new leader of the group in early August 2016. However, the original leader of Boko Haram Abubakar Shekau rejected al-Baghdadi’s order, which led to an internal conflict within the terrorist group.
Lately, Boko Haram increased its attacks against the Nigerian Army and civilians in northeastern Nigeria. On January 3, a suicide bomber of Boko Haram killed eleven civilians when he blew himself up inside a mosque in the town of Gamboru in Borno state, according to AFP.
The Nigerian Army has conducted dozens of successful operations against strongholds of Boko Harama in northeastern Nigeria over the last two years. However, eliminating the terrorist group will likely take much more time.
US Africa Command better start getting on this real soon or we will see the cancer spread fast.

The intervention of US into area was all controved. BOKO was no more than a loose knit band of outlaws with no more than 100 members before US interventions. An intervention not actually called for by any of nations involved, as they all said their own militaries and police forces were already destroying it, and they could show no connections to any outside help, ISIS Al’Q etc. Also they could not find any corrupt government aid either. This clandestine warfare and disruption to civil societies has its root in both US/Canada and European theft of African resources, and their installations of regimes that were easy to corrupt.
