Boko Haram Storms 2 Military Bases, Briefly Captures Town In Northeastern Nigeria

Support SouthFront

On December 27, Boko Haram militants stormed two military bases in the Borno state in northeastern Nigeria. Militants briefly seized the headquarters of a multinational force comprising troops from Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon as well as the town of Baga itself.

An anonymous military told the AFP news agency that Nigerian troops were “overpowered and forced to withdraw,” adding that “the terrorists carted away gun trucks, ammunition and multiple rocket launchers from the base.”

According to reports, Boko Haram militants controlled the town of Baga at least for a half day. However, the Nigerian Army stressed that militants were forced to withdraw from the town. According to speculations in local media, at least 700 soldiers went missing following the attack. However, most likely this is a result of chaotic retreat under pressure from Boko Haram. Later, most of these fighters will likely regroup and restore contact with their leadership.

“…most of these fighters will likely regroup and restore contact with their leadership.”

I can see that whoever wrote that has never been to Africa or worked with Negro “soldiers.”

I'm getting Monty Python flashbacks of these magnificent 'heroes'.

Brave Sir Robin ran away, bravely ran away, away. When danger reared its ugly head he bravely turned his tail and fled. Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about and gallantly he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat. Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.

I reckon these gallant troops had internet scams to do, yes, internet scams.
