Many Wounded by Bombing at Police station in Southeast Turkey (Photos)

On June 8, a car bomb targeted a police station in the province of Mardin, Southeast Turkey. The attack took place in the town of Midyat near the Syrian border.

Reuters reports that “many people” have been wounded by the attack.

Sotuheast Turkey is the mostly Kurdish-populated area, where the Ankara forces are currently cracking down on militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The province of Mardin is located in the area close to the Kurdish-controlled territory in Syria.

We remember, on June 7, 11 people were killed in a car bombing in Istanbul. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blamed the attack on “Kurdish fighters.”
