On August 15, a blast was reported in the Turkish-occupied town of Jarabulus in the northern countryside of Syria’s Aleppo.

The blast was caused by a booby-trapped motorcycle that exploded  near a bakery in Jarabulus’ town center in the morning.

Citing medical sources, local activists reported that a man, “Ahmad Bakur”, was killed in the blast. At least six other people were injured.

The activists also shared images showing the suspect who parked the booby-trapped motorcycle near the bakery in the early morning hours. His identity is yet to be revealed.

ISIS that has recently became active in Turkish-occupied areas in northern Aleppo may be behind this attack. Kurdish forces may also be responsible as they are known for orchestrating attacks in Turkish-occupied areas.

Some activists believe that corrupt Turkish-backed militants are facilitating such attacks for Kurdish forces or ISIS in exchange for money. The lack of any accountability in Turkish-occupied areas indicate that this may be true. In most cases, the perpetrators are not revealed.
