Russian air defense systems were activated in the city of Kerch in the east of the Crimea. The Crimean bridge links the city of Kersch with the Russian Krasnodar region. The incident was confirmed Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, in an urgent statement.
The Crimean official claimed that there is no danger either to the city or the bridge. He added that these are preliminary reports. Any details on the incident are yet to be revealed.
The locals reported several explosions heard at 20:41, 20:56 and 20:58 local time.
Presumably, the air defense systems could have target Ukrainian drones over the bridge.
UPDATE:
At the same time, Russian air defense systems intercepted unidentified objects near the airfield in Belbek in the city of Sevastopol. Locals reported that several explosions were heard in the air. The videos confirmed that the explosions were the result of the work of the air defense systems. Any details are yet to be provided by the local officials.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry previously warned that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could strike Crimea by the American HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system, since the United States does not consider the peninsula to be part of Russia. At the same time, the Crimean bridge is “the number one goal,” for the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian president said that Ukraine would strike at the Crimean Bridge as soon as it receives the necessary military equipment from the Kiev’s allies.

For me, an attack on the Crimean Bridge will be going too far for the demonic alliance of the European and American nations of scumbags. Perhaps he will wait till winter and then turn off the gas? Well, Putin has all the options he needs to bring the “war” to a quick conclusion, should he need to do so. But we are only a couple of months away from autumn and that is not the best time of year to go all in with an army of a million men or even more. Perhaps Putin is saving that option until next year when the Ukrainians are exhausted after a full winter in the cold and wet trenches of Donbass. A major spring assault on the Ukraine is therefore, IMHO, a better option to finish the war, as spring historically is a good time to start an offensive move on an enemy.

The two attacks in Crimea although very disappointing will have no impact on the projectory of the war. What is more the bigger picture is Ukraine needs a victory before winter, before the US mid terms, before the energy crisis hits Europe. Ukraine isn’t the headline News anymore and Zelensky is very aware of this. That is why it’s so important Russia keeps on course as it is grinding the Ukrainians on the front lines. Just the last 48 hours has shown if you listen to military analysis (from many sources) on the ground the Russian gains are impressive and Ukrainian loses pretty dire.
What did they gain on the ground in the last 48 hours??? I only saw a village in Donbass and a village in Kherson, both after weeks of trying. (it’s a serious question, I’m not making fun of Russian advances, I want to know what I’ve missed)
