According to preliminary reports from the front lines, fighters of Russian Wagner PMC took control of the village of Yakovlevka located to the north-east of Soledar.
Russian fighters continue the mop up operations on the outskirts of the village. The advancing Russian forces are yet to establish a stronghold in the area.
Fighting for Yakovlevka and on its outskirts has been ongoing for weeks. On December 5, Russian assault groups broke through the defensive lines of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village, and captured two Ukainian platoon strongpoints. In two days, Ukrainian forces were pushed out of the village.
The Russian military have recently claimed control of the village of Belogorovka located several kilometers to the north of Yakovlevka. However, fighting is still ongoing in the area. Amid the Russian success in Yakovlevka, the Ukrainian grouping may soon withdraw from their positions along the road leading to Soledar.
After the Russian military secure their stronghold in Yakovlevka, pressure on the AFU grouping in Soledar will increase. Wagner fighters may soon attack the flank of the defending Ukrainain forces in the town. Wagner units also cut another road leading to Soledar, which has already partially came under Russian control before.

This village is the key door to Soledar. Soledar being a very small town it must be the NEXT capture for the russians. Because Soledar fall means Backmut fall. Already Soledar is captured in it’s south east extremity and a blow from the north will collapse it. And the fall of Backmut is equal with the fall of Popasnaya: a whole horizon of enveloping the ukroshit nazi imbeciles will be unraveled. The 10 Guard Corps of the banderastan reich could no withstand anymore inside the meat grinder. They had around 700 KIA and about 2000 WIA. Those Wagner’s are phenomenal !
