Following the successful May 18 advances, the Syrian army liberated the strategic town of Dayr al-Asafir in Damascus’ East Ghouta region. The fall of militant-controlled town of Dayr al-Asafir marks the collapse of the militants’ forces in the southern pocket.
Next days, the Syrian forces will consolidate the gains in the area preparing for further advances in the Damascus countryside
