This map provides a general look at the current military situation in Syria and the most interesting military and security developments there over the past two days.

According  to pro-government sources, members of militant groups operating in the province of Idlib continue to violate the demilitarized zone agreement. Over the past week, the Syrian Arab Army has repelled multiple attacks by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its allies. The most recent attack took place late on November 23.

Te US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are still clashing with ISIS members in the area of Hajin in the Euphrates Valley. The SDF reports ISIS casualties there on a constant basis but makes no progress on the ground.

Each day that goes by is one more day that hasn’t sunk us all into nuclear war. An escalation could occur from a Israeli attack on government positions, that Russia would have no alternative but respond, triggering events leading to world war. The world is heading for nuclear war. The pattern of history is being fulfilled. • Power, (manifested as interest) was present in very conflict in history – no exception. It is the underlying motivation for war. Interest cuts across all apparently unifying principles: family, kin, nation, religion, ideology, politics – everything. We unite with the enemies of our principles, because that is what serves our interest. It is the one thing we will destroy ourselves for, as well as everyone else. • History shows that every civilization/nation eventually gets the war it is trying to avoid: utter defeat. This applies as much today as any other time in history. • Leaders and decision-makers delude themselves, thinking they can avoid their fate – they can’t. If survival is threatened, there is no alternative to war, however destructive. https://www.ghostsofhistory.wordpress.com/
