British Navy F-35B Fighter Jet Crashed Into Mediterranean Sea

On November 17, a British F-35B Lightening II fighter jet from the Royal Navy flagship aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, crashed into the Mediterranean Sea.

The UK’s Ministry of Defense said that the fighter jet pilot ejected during a routine operation. The incident occurred at approximately 10 am UK time in international waters. No other vessels or aircraft were involved.

“The pilot has been safely returned to the ship and an investigation has begun, so it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time,” the ministry’s Press Office said on Twitter.

The F-35B short-take-off, vertical-landing fight jet was one of 24 so far delivered to the UK. Each of the American-made stealthy jets costed the UK around £100 million.

The incident took place as HMS Queen Elizabeth was its way back from its maiden operational deployment, which was in the Far East. The flagship was carrying eight British F-35B fighter jets, along with ten American F-35s.

The UK military has pledged to purchase as many as 138 F-35 fighter jets. Only 48 are currently on demand. The incident may effect these plans, which are already expected to face cuts.

The design and performance of the F-35 have been facing much criticism. In March, a F-35B of the US Marine Corps was significantly damaged when a round fired from its underbelly 25 mm gun pod exploded shortly after leaving the muzzle of the cannon mounted within.

Finally some good news from the British Empire!

John Wooh

This jet was built/invented to bully 3rd world countries and to suck off the american taxpayers.

Its slow 1,6Mach less than 2000kmh, it has a short range(operation radius), it carries a small amount of weapons, it is very expensive to buy and to maintain, its dogfight capabilities are worse than F-14, F-15, F-16, F-18 and of the F-22’s.

It is really a flying oh i mean a crashing Disaster!

Lone Ranger

It doesn’t even have supercruise of supermaneuverability. In fact it can only make supersonic sprints for 30secs at a time, no sustained supersonic capebility not even with afterburner. That jet is a joke.

John Wooh

I know for me its a fat ugly manned drone or even worse with its short range of 600km action radius a pure Lemon ;) .

Florian Geyer

This is hilarious :)

Selbstdenker

You forgot to mention its extremely expensive life cycle costs. pre- and post flight maintenance is extreme and costly, service cycles are very short. Overall an extremely expensive weapons system. As seen here an accounting nightmare: https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-21-439

That was the 4th or 5th Flop-35 that has crashed. Pretty alarming, and they aren’t even fighting a war, just casual training.

Highly trained fighting seagull escaped from Syrian top secret bird training facility to follow HMS and waited F-35 for attack. Upon success, seagull returned to receive MoH for second success against F-35.

The first of many more to come!!! Over at the c*nts at Lockheed Martin, they are all smiles nonetheless as their year-end bonuses are surely not affected.

SnowCatzor

That makes five Flop-35’s crashed in 4 years, not a good look for something billed as “hyper-advanced and cutting-edge”.

The Flying Paperweight.

Then we have the Russian AeroSpace forces launching a ballistic missle interceptor that destroyed one of their old spy satellites. The not too-veiled message to Uncle Sam and friends is rather obvious: this is what we can do to you…understand?.

without GPS, NATO=sitting ducks

Putin made it clear to Biden during their summit meeting in Geneva in June. The US empire is in full retreat.. Only Putin allows them to save face it would be more apparent to us ordinary folk. 😜😜😜

Ragheadthefiendlyterrorist

I can’t term you how much I love the F 35 😁. The Amerikastani Empire should force each of its slaves to buy at least 1000 of them!

Ray Douglas

Ha ha ha ha ha. Another nail in the coffin of the US empire.

Dick Von Dast'Ard

If it was engine failure, (???) then maybe a flying (t)urkey might have flown into it’s engine?
