On June 13, 9 people, including a policeman, were injured in a car bomb attack near Justice Palace in Turkey’s southeastern city of Tunceli. A gunfire was reported after the car bomb attack.
Tunceli is the capital of Tunceli Province, located in the middle of Eastern Anatolia Region. Tunceli is a mainly Kurdish province. However, it lies further north than where most of the fighting between Kurdish militants and Turkish troops have been observed, recently.
Turkey has faced a series of bomb attacks over recent months, including last week when a car bomb targeted a police bus in central Istanbul. Kurdish militants claimed responsibility for the attack.
It looks Kurdish militants have increased the geography of bombings. Earlier, a major part of the attacks were conducted in the largely Kurdish southeast of the country.
