On November 17, a car bomb attack targeted the local headquarters and the weapons warehouse belonging to the Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki militant group that participates in the Turkey-led military operation in northern Syria – Operation Euphrates Shield.
Accorindg to initial reports, up to 25 milintants were killed in the attack and dozens were injured. Later, Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki released a statement that some 12 civilians were among killed. So, according to the group, it lost 13 fighters.
Earlier this week, intense firefights between Turkmen-led (Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki is one of them) and Arab militant groups were reported in Azaz. November 17 car bomb attack was, most likely, a continuation of this fighting.
