The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon on January 10 morning and overnight.
Near the town of Labbouneh, the IDF said that a fighter jet hit a military building and other infrastructure belonging to the group. Another site of Hezbollah near the town of Naqoura, from which projectiles were previously fired at Israel, was also struck.
Overnight, an Israeli fighter jet targeted a Hezbollah military compound in the town of Kfarchouba, according to the IDF, which also announced that an observation position near the town of Khiam was targeted a day earlier. Video footage of the strikes were released by the IDF.
Lebanese media also reported heavy Israeli artillery strikes on the towns of Kafr Kalla, Deir Mimas, Al-Dhahra, Al-Jabain and Yarin.
A Lebanese civilian was killed in Kafr Kallah. Hezbollah also announced that one of its fighters was killed “on the road to Jerusalem.”
During the day, Hezbollah announced a single attack. Poor weather conditions along the border have apparently restricted the group’s movement. The attack target was the IDF al-Maraj site on the border with Lebanon. No casualties were reported.
Hezbollah and its allies launched hundreds of cross-border attacks from southern Lebanon in support of Palestinian armed factions amid the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip.
As of January 10, the border clashes have resulted in four civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of nine IDF soldiers. On the Lebanese side, more than 180 have been killed. The toll includes 150 Hezbollah fighters, 14 of whom were killed in Syria, 25 Palestinians, a Lebanese soldier, and at least 22 civilians.
