Ceasefire Violation: Houthis Report Saudi-led Coalition Airstrike On Yemen’s Hajjah

Late on May 4, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) said that the Saudi-led coalition had carried out an airstrike on the district of Harad in the northwestern Yemeni province of Hajjah in a violation of the UN-sponsored ceasefire.

Just a few hours before the Saudi-led coalition airstrike, the Houthi shot down a Saudi Rainbow CH-4 combat drone over Harad. The group said that the drone violated the ceasefire agreement.

The airstrike on Harad was not the only violation to be reported by the Houthis. The group said that Saudi-backed forces in the western province of al-Hudaydah violated the ceasefire at least 64 times between May 4 and 5.

The ceasefire in Yemen, which went into effect more than a month ago, is set to end on June 2. As a part of the ceasefire, the Saudi-led coalition committed to allow fuel ships to enter Houthi-held al-Hudaydah port and select flights from Sanaa International Airport.

Houthi chief negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam have already warned that the repeated violations by the Saudi-led coalition are jeopardizing the ceasefire.

“Continued aggressive acts will undermine the humanitarian and military truce, which is mainly threatened by not implementing its provisions regarding the reopening of Sanaa International Airport and facilitating the arrival of ships coming towards the port of al-Hudaydah,” Abdulsalam said on Twitter.

The Saudi-led coalition has been also accusing the Houthis of violating the ceasefire agreement. Despite this, no attacks on Saudi Arabia were reported recently.

The ceasefire in Yemen will likely hold up. The UN hopes that an agreement to make the ceasefire permanent will be reached before June 2. Despite the recent exchange of accusations between the Saudi-led coalition and the Houthis, a permanent ceasefire remains achievable.

“in a violation of the UN-sponsored ceasefire”

Erratum: “in a violation of the Anglo-ameriscum sponsored ceasefire”

Because who benefits if Houthi does not hit Saudis oil depots? Only Westerner countries. Bidone even sent Jolie to Yemen: ameriscums are so desperate if there is no oil
