On March 30, terrorists believed to be members of ISIS attacked an oil field guarded by Iranian-backed forces in Syria’s central region, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The London-based monitoring group said in a report that the terrorists attacked al-Ward oil field, which is located in al-Salihiya desert near al-Bukamal town in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside, on motorcycles. The terrorists clashed with Iranian-backed forces, who apparently managed to repel the attack.
“There was no information about human losses,” the SOHR’s report read.
A day earlier, a suspected terrorist of ISIS was killed during a failed attack on a position of Syrian government forces near the town of al-Mayadin in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
In the last few weeks, ISIS was blamed for several attacks in central Syria that claimed the lives of dozens of people, mainly civilians who were hunting for truffles. However, the terrorist group didn’t claim responsibility for any of the recent attacks.
The terrorist attack on al-Ward oil field came following a serious confrontation between the United States-led coalition and Iranian-backed forces. During the confrontation, the U.S. targeted several positions in Deir Ezzor, killing at least eight Iranian-backed fighters.
It’s worth noting that Damascus blamed the U.S. for a terrorist attack that killed ten workers at al-Taim oil field in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside last December. ISIS was involved in the attack, according to unverified reports.
ISIS are thieves same as USA’s military.
