Eight terrorists of ISIS were killed in recent Russian airstrikes on Syria’s central region, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on November 26.
The London-based monitoring group said that the strikes targeted the western desert of Deir Ezzor and the southern desert of Raqqa, where ISIS cells have been very active recently.
“The death toll will likely raise as they are more than 15 wounded [ISIS terrorists], some of whom are in a critical condition,” the SOHR’s report reads.
According to the SOHR, Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) warplanes have carried out more than 560 airstrikes on ISIS terrorists and their hideouts in central Syria since the start of November.
ISIS cells continue to operation in the central region despite facing much pressure and sustaining heavy losses. A recent ambush by the group’s terrorists in the western desert of Deir Ezzor claimed the lives of seven fighters from a tribal pro-government formation known as “Usud al-Sharqiyah”.
While ISIS insurgence in central Syria is still ongoing. The terrorist group is not currently a threat to strategic highways and key urban centers in the region.
The only way to finish once and for all the war in Syria is direct attack on turkish forces. As long as Turkey supplies the sessessionists with all kinds of assistance and especially with arms the war will continue.
