Early on May 18, ISIS cells ambushed a convoy of pro-government forces in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the deadly ambush took place to the south of the village of al-Mateyah in Maskanah desert.
“Five four-wheel-drive vehicles of the 25th Division and the Iranian militias were attacked in the area, while clashes took place between ISIS members and Iranian militias, which led to the death of eight members, including an Iranian militia leader,” the London-based monitoring group claimed.
The 25th Special Forces Division, known as the “Tiger Forces,” is one of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) best units. The unit has been operating against ISIS cells in central Syria for a few months now.
The al-Mateyah ambush is alarming. Previous attacks by ISIS cells in Aleppo were smaller in scale and did not result in as many casualties.
A similar ambush targeted a convoy of the army near the town of al-Sukhnah in eastern Homs a few days earlier. ISIS terrorists destroyed a motorcycle and three vehicles. Human losses were also reported.
ISIS terrorists, who are mainly based in the Homs desert, have been tirelessly working to spread their influence in other parts of central Syria. This year, the terrorists conducted dozens of attacks against the government forces and civilians in the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle as well as in western Deir Ezzor.

“According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” so it’s probably not (entirely) true. Yet these ambushes are very concerning, SAA is simply not able to eradicate guerrilla terrorist cells.
These attacks were not Isis regular terrorist members but zio master terrorist jewish soldiers who were already in Syria before the current situation.
