Russian warplanes carried out more than 800 airstrikes on Syria’s central region over the last 30 days, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on July 30.
The airstrikes targeted hideout of ISIS cells in the deserts of Homs, Deir Ezzor as well as in the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle. The terrorist group has been very active in these areas.
According to the London-based monitoring group, at least 16 terrorists of ISIS were killed and 19 others were wounded as a result of Russian airstrikes.
Syrian government forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces have been mounting some serious pressure on ISIS cells in the central region. Yet, the terrorists are still carrying out large attacks from time to time.
On July 28, ISIS cells launched a large-scale attack on the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies in the western Deir Ezzor countryside. Seven Syrian service members were killed while repelling the attack. At least five terrorists were eliminated.
ISIS insurgency in central Syria will not likely end anytime soon. Nevertheless, the terrorist group is no longer in a position to threaten urban centers or strategic roads in the region.
The terrorist death toll is way too small!!. period.
Only 35 isil dead ?? Not to effective this Russ Air Force planes…
Fewer than 35 are dead. Killed OR injured. Could be 1 dead and 34 injured for all we know.
Condolences to the fallen wahabimossad and CIAisis operators… May they rest in pieces…
Condolences on the inefficiency of bombing raids in the desert against a dispersed enemy.
For a tenth of the cost the Putin regime could get rid of ten times the number of ISIS by just sending Spetsnaz hunter killer commando teams out on raids. They’d scare the hell out of a hundred times more ISIS too.
Your Putin cultism is getting rather desperate isn’t it?
These are small factions of terrorists dispersed and operating across central area. Small gangs hiding out in bunker holes, in arid central landscape, involved in hit and run harassment against Syrian forces. It takes a surprisingly small amount of armed terrorists to create nagging problems in remote areas – thirty five terrorists may have actually been all of them operating in a particular sector.
I suggest to the writers at Southfront to start using the term “sorties” – one mission flown by one aircraft and state how many bombs or missiles were deployed against the enemy. That would be more accurate. The word “airstrikes” is very ambiguous and is usually used by the simple minded, military illiterates in the big media propaganda companies.
“Hundreds of… ” BUT only 35 ISIS killed or injured!? that’s an awful rate. Bad aiming, improve it and fast.
Condolences to the fallen wahabimossad and CIAisis operators… May they rest in pieces…
If you need “hundreds” of airstrikes to kill or injure – not just kill, but also injure – a big fat 35 ISIS, your airstrikes are pretty damned ineffective, aren’t they?
I wouldn’t boast of them if I were you.
Expensive I would say. Imagine the cost of hundreds of air strickes for just 35 dead ISIS. With a fraction of that money you could buy them and their families, life retirement.
