On March 10, ISIS cells in Syria’s central region ambushed a vehicle carrying service members of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
The vehicle came under attack near the Arak oil filed, which is located to the northeast of the ancient city of Palmyra in the eastern Homs countryside. Syrian pro-government sources shared a photos showing the aftermath of the ambush. According to the sources, several service members were killed or wounded.

Earlier, Syrian opposition sources reported that ten service members of the SAA were killed or wounded when they stumbled upon an old landmine in the outskirts of Palmyra. These claims are yet to be verified.
In the morning, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out at least ten airstrikes on hideouts of ISIS in central Syria.
The terrorist group’s cells stepped up their operations in the central region very recently. On March 6, the terrorists ambushed a bus carrying Syrian service members near the T3 Pumping Station in the eastern Homs countryside. The attack claimed the lives of 13 soldiers and officers and wounded at least 18 others.
ISIS, who finally confirmed the death of its leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, will likely escalate its operations in the central Syria in the upcoming few months. The terrorist group’s new leader, Abu al-Hassan al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, was reportedly very close to Abu Ibrahim who paid special attention to the region.
ISIS and UkroISIS
Lol! EVERY article SouthFront publishes about ‘Daesh’ always claims that they are ‘stepping up their operations’ or that their ‘operations will likely escalate’. They never do. Absolute crap as always.
You are correct. But they also always write its the Jihadists breaking the ceasefire even they are hit themself by artillery, missiles and airstrikes.
Get used to it. I am. I can see if there are real changes or not. I can see ISIS are not reduced as much as hoped for or even not reduced at all.
