On February 16, a new wave of Russian airstrikes targeted ISIS’s main areas of influence in the central region of Syria.
The airstrikes hit hideouts of the terrorist group’s cells in the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle, around al-Bishri mount on the administrative border between Raqqa and Deir Ezzor and in the eastern countryside of Homs.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 17 terrorists of ISIS were killed or wounded as a result of the Russian airstrikes.
“It was confirmed that six ISIS members were killed and 11 others were wounded,” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.
The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have been hitting ISIS cells in central Syria harder than ever. Last week, a series of Russian airstrikes on the region claimed the lives of 16 terrorists and wounded more than 30 others.
Russian warplanes have reportedly carried out more than 440 airstrikes on ISIS terrorists, equipment and hideouts in the central region since the beginning of February.
The pressure mounted by the VKS and Syrian government forces have recently forced ISIS cells in the region to slow down their movements and halt much of their operations.
Condolences to the fallen wahabimossad and CIAisis operators. May they rest in pieces…
