Following the talks with UN Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that a ceasefire in the city of Aleppo will be announced in the coming hours.
The US and Russian militaries are currently holding talks on the implementation of the ceasefire in the Syrian city.
“I hope that in the coming hours such an agreement will be announced,” the Russian official said.
UN special envoy Staffan de Mistura noted that the stalled Syria peace talks could be resumed if an Aleppo ceasefire is agreed.
He believes it’s possible to relaunch the ceasefire by extending local truces.
We remember, on May 3, at least 10 civilians have been killed and dozens injured after terrorists launched a missile on Dabbit hospital in Aleppo. The terrorist groups also launched a full-scale offensive in the government-controlled areas of the city.
