A number of accidents took place on oil facilities all over the world in recent days.

Late on July 4, a massive explosion took place in the Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea.

It was seen from the embankment in Baku, and was also filmed from the neighboring patrol platforms in the sea.

Reportedly, there were no accidents on Azerbaijani offshore platforms in the Caspian Sea.

According to preliminary data provided by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, the explosion was caused by a mud volcano eruption.

On July 2, an explosion occurred at Romania’s largest Navodari Petromidia oil refinery outside the port city of Constanta. As a result, one person was killed and at least four were injured.

The same day, a gas leak from an underwater pipeline caused a huge fire on the ocean surface of the Gulf of Mexico. The fire, caused in an undersea pipeline of Mexico’s state-owned oil company Petroleos Mexicanos or Pemex, took more than five hours to be completely extinguished.

These events can hardly be connected. However, such a coincidence easily rises rumors.
