In the conditions of active operations of Russia in the Syrian sector, the USA intends to undertake specific actions against IS so as not to lose initiative on the Syrian sector.
According to available data, the USA is planning to take the city of Raqqa, where the main command staff of IS is concentrated, and through which, even more importantly, pass the main logistical paths for smuggling oil from Iraq to Turkey. The sponsors of the radicals — Qatar and Turkey – are evidently informed about the change of intentions of the “head corporation”, and they also clearly realize the changed picture at the operational and tactical level.
After the beginning of the approach of Iranian regular units from Homs to Idlib, the Qataris and the Turks should have absolutely no doubts about the end of the opposition. Ankara and Doha are starting to back out. In the developing circumstances, the tactical problem of Turkey is to not let the Americans seriously strengthen the Kurdish militia which now will act as “the point of the spear” of a pro-American coalition, thereby showing loyalty to “Big Brother”. Evidently for this reason the Turkish security service was reported to have liquidated last week a laboratory in the territory of Turkey for stamping coins for IS. The message was passed, as if a humdrum matter, not to pay excessive attention to the fact that those IS “gold dinars” were minted under the nose of the all-powerful Turkish intelligence services. It is improbable that they did not know about it, and the very fact of the elimination of this “mint” obviously testifies to the change of the general situation in the region.
