On July 31st, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the commissioning of China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS-3).
After the ceremony for its completion and commissioning, Xi visited the exhibition of the construction and development of the BDS, and listened to the introduction of project construction, operation services, application and promotion, international cooperation, and prospects for future development.
Xi said the completion and opening of the BDS-3 “fully reflects the political advantage of China’s socialist system in mobilizing resources for major undertakings.”
He said that the system had been in development for 26 years now.
Xi called for promoting BDS applications and ensuring good follow-up work, such as the stable operation of the system, to make new and greater contributions to China’s economic and social development as well as the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
“It is of great significance to enhance China’s comprehensive national strength, to promote China’s economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood under regular epidemic prevention and control, to promote China’s opening-up under the current international economic situation, to further enhance national self-confidence, and to strive to achieve the two centenary goals,” noted Xi.
Premier Li Keqiang and Vice Premier Han Zheng, both members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also attended the ceremony.
China launched the last satellite of the BDS-3 system on June 22nd, despite the video saying June 23rd.
This is yet another example that the United States and co.’s ambition to curb China’s progress on a global scale isn’t proving much effective at all.
The original idea of a Chinese satellite navigation system was conceived by Chen Fangyun and his colleagues in the 1980s. According to the China National Space Administration, in 2010, the development of the system would be carried out in three steps:
- 2000–2003: experimental BeiDou navigation system consisting of three satellites.
- By 2012: regional BeiDou navigation system covering China and neighboring regions.
- By 2020: global BeiDou navigation system.
It appears that the timeline was followed.
The third phase of the BeiDou system (BDS-3) includes three GEO satellites, three IGSO satellites, and twenty-four MEO satellites which introduce new signal frequencies B1C/B1I/B1A (1575.42 MHz), B2a/B2b (1191.795 MHz), B3I/B3Q/B3A (1268.52 MHz), and Bs test frequency (2492.028 MHz). Interface control documents on the new open signals were published in 2017–2018.

This is quite a significant development, 40 years in the making of. It will make a marked difference to China’s security and ‘projection’, as the USadmin likes to call it.

This is just the latest example of a tale of two countries. The business of China is national development, foreign investment and assistance, peace and business. Thousands of miles away, the business of the idiots and Einsteins in Washington, DC is war, death, destruction, misery, terror, provocations, intimidation. spying, blackmail, hypocrisy and hubris.
