The South China Sea area is still extremely unstable. China seems to be preparing for dramatic changes in the region. In the face of accelerated training of Taiwanese troops, Beijing in turn is conducting military exercises. The drills are a strong signal to other countries in the region, such as Japan and the United States, that Beijing considers the Taiwan issues an internal Chinese problem.
Chinese authorities claim that “the drills are defensive in nature and were not aimed against other countries”.
On June 20, China successfully tested a land-based mid-course anti-missile defense system aimed at interception of incoming missiles, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
On June 21-23, the Chinese Army conducted drills in the Taiwan Strait. These drills were carried out in order to confront the new bloc being formed with the United States. “Eastern NATO” began with Japan’s formation of a new informal alliance and attempts to involve India. Only purposeful, early and intensive training of troops will eliminate the risks of surprise for China in the event of a crisis situation with Taiwan.
The 74th Army of the PLA Southern Command participated in the drills. During the exercises the army managed to practice: deployment of combat formations on the coast of the Guangdong province, maneuvering of military equipment at sea, loading and landing of military equipment from the deck of landing ships of the Southern Fleet in daylight and at night, organizing firing at sea, landing on the coast of the conventional enemy and conducting offensive operations.
A map of China’s military facilities show about 1,200 sites, including land, sea and air bases, central political and economic military agencies, missile force bases, military academies, etc.
On June 24, the PLA Command conducted a reconnaissance operation in the Pacific Ocean to monitor the activities of the armed forces of Japan and other foreign countries and uncover the time standards for the response of the Japanese Armed Forces on duty. One PLA Navy Yungan-9 radio reconnaissance aircraft was involved in the operation. The aircraft flew from the East China Sea to the Miyako Strait to the Pacific Ocean and back.
These drills will definitely not be the last one this summer, and it is likely that China will conduct several more exercises in the near future. This conclusion can be drawn based on the recent Russian-Chinese exercises, Chinese reconnaissance operations in the Senkaku Islands area, and constant Chinese aircraft patrols near Taiwan.

China is carefully watching the progress and excellent performance of the Russians in Kievan-Rus and despite some earlier reservations due to western propaganda is now heartened to see how good the Red Army and its weapons are. The PLA understands that Russians have soundly defeated 30 NATO eunuchs with barely 145,000 active combat troops in Ukraine. Russian barely deployed 1/5th of of its massive airpower and totally crippled the AFU and wiped out every air base. The PLA has been taking good notes. Taiwan will last less than 24 hours against a determined PLA attack. The NATO defeat in Russian Ukraine has altered military textbooks for good.
The truth is, of course, that if the Chinese leadership had real balls they would have conducted a Special Military Operation in Taiwan at the same time that Russia started their Special Military Operation in Ukraine or shortly after. Instead, they let Russia bring the west to its knees without any real help and – assuming the Bidet admin continues to provoke them – will conduct their version of the SMO against a much weakened west.
Time is on their side, it has been for the past 60 years.

Besides the leaders of the BRICS countries, China had invited leaders of 13 countries for the event, seen to be Beijing’s push to expand the five-member bloc. These include Algeria, Argentina, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Senegal, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Fiji, Malaysia and Thailand. Saudi Arabia was rejected after objections from various nations for its appalling human rights record and Turkey being a NATO member was also excluded. This new expanded BRICS is the largest trading and economic block in history.

China wants to rewrite the history books, if you think they will accept Russia as partners, you are mistaken. Where are the armed formation of the Chinese army in Ukraine, there aren’t any, there isn’t even any support.
Fact is China has a population growth issue, but there is nowhere for it to expand, like NATO their military soft political power is destroying many countries. Maybe China is emboldened by Russian successes but they were willing to go nuclear over a melee skirmish in the mountains with India.
The only thing that matters in war, is how you fight it. Look what happened to the Mongol empire because of the way it waged its wars. Or the Romans before Christianity destroyed it. China will never be successful in their endeavours and ultimately will quickly resort to a nuclear standoffs which they will lose and which will ultimately destroy Russia by association.
Russia has been there for China during China’s darkest hours, mostly from the 1920’s to the 1990s when China was going through its tumultuous revolution, invasion by Japan and economic hardship as it was beginning to develop. The friendship between China and Russia took many decades to form and strengthen. China has not forgotten Russia’s good deeds and this is why as soon as Russia’s SMO began, China stated to the entire world that it would assist Russia financially against the western sanctions. Now more than ever Russia and China know that they cannot survive without each other’s support. This alliance is existential for the bear and the dragon. The reason China has not assisted Russia militarily is because Russia is winning and decisively. Russia and China just opened up a cross-border bridge. This bridge will be used to transport military equipment between both nations. They are also conducting joint military drills a lot more often. You may be from a part of the world who does not believe that mutual loyalty and respect between two nations can be attainable and sustainable but I assure you Russia and China today have an ironclad alliance that will not be undone.
If China moved on Taiwan what in reality can the “Joe Biden” cabal do? Go to full war? There is no desire by the population to do so. Inflation, recession, internal social conflict, etc, means nothing will be done. But China is in no hurry for military conflict. Not their style.
I completely agree with you, the U.S. will do absolutely nothing. The only damage the U.S. can do to China is freeze hundreds of billions or possibly close to a trillion dollars and bonds in U.S. reserves.
