An unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) crashed on August 17 in the area of Baninah, southeast of the city of Benghazi, the main stronghold of the Libyan National Army (LNA).
Pro-LNA news sources claimed that the UAV was shot down by the LNA’s air-defense force. However, the army has not confirmed this, so far.
The UAV was identified as the Chinese-made Sea Cavalry SD-60B thanks to a video released by Libyan activists. This type of UAVs was not spotted in Libya before.

Manufactured by Han’s Eagle, the SD-60B is a hybrid electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) multi-purpose drone. The UAV has a mission reduce of 100-600km and can carry a 15kg payload.
It remains unclear if the UAV was being operated by forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA), or by the LNA itself.
