At least 3 soldiers have been killed and 75 injured in car bomb attacks in Turkey’s Diyarbakır Province.
According to different reports, 2 soldiers were killed and nearly 50 people wounded in a car bomb attack on a Turkish gendarmerie base in the town of Hani last night.
The Turkish military confirmed in a statement that 1 soldier and 47 people had been wounded. 6 wounded civilians were relatives of the soldiers.
Following the attack, Turkish gendarmerie and special forces launched an operation with air support in Hani and in the nearby area.
In a separate development, a car bomb attack killed 1 and wounded 25 people in the city of Diyarbakır.
Since the start of military operations against Kurdish militias in Turkey’s southeast, at least 370 policemen and soldiers have been killed. In turn, Turkish officials report that 5000 Kurdish militants have been killed. However, the Kurdish side argues that a significant part of these “militants” have been civilians.
