Clashes Between Saudi-backed And UAE-backed Forces Raging In Aden (Map Update)

Clashes between forces loyal to pro-Saudi ‘President’ Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and UAE-backed southern separatists are raging in the Yemeni city of Ade since August 7.

Tensions erupted after Hani bin Breik, a top member of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), called on his supporters to overthrow the Saudi-backed government of Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi based in Aden.

“We announce a general mobilisation of all our southern forces to march toward the Maasheeq Palace,” Brek, deputy chairman of the STC, said.

He further called on STC forces to march toward the Maasheeq Palace in the southern coastal city, which has for years played as the capital of the Saudi-led coalition forces. The real capital of Yemen, Sanaa, remains in the hands of the Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis).

The pretext for this call became the accusations against pro-Hadi forces that stationed at the presidential headquarters of attacking demonstrators loyal to the SCT during a funeral for victims of a recent attack. At least 49 people were killed in two separate attacks on August 1 in government-held Aden. On August 2, Al-Qaeda gunmen killed 19 soldiers in an attack on an army base in southern Yemen, according to pro-coalition sources.

By August 7, the tensions turned into a full-scale clashes between pro-Hadi and pro-STC forces. Both sides have deployed own reinforcements and military equipment to the city.

By August 9, pro-Hadi forces had gained full control over the Al Hadid mountain and the 1st Brigade base, captured the Ummal(worker) Island blocking the SCT’s supply line via sea. In turn, STC forces entered the Naql Camp near the administrative buildings.

There have been reports that STC forces seized the Badr base, but they are unntrue. The area is controlled by the pro-Hadi forces. An intense fighting is ongoing near Aden Airport, which has been closed.

In general, STC forces are more motivated and better trained that Hadi supporters. Nonetheless, the best pro-STC units are now deployed near the Houthis-controlled port city of al-Hudaydah. So, they need time to return to Aden. Therefore, in the event of a further escalation, it’s possible that the STC may push to establish a full cntrol of the city (it already controls most of it).

This development would mean the full collapse of the Saudi claims regarding supporting the ‘legal’ government of Yemen that may lose even the temporary capital.

Saudi morons left lonely in between war.

Real Anti-Racist Action

This is great news. the best pro-STC units are now deployed near the Houthis-controlled port city of al-Hudaydah. So, they need time to return to Aden. If they do indeed get pulled from the front lines with the port city of al-Hudaydah, then the Houthis can take advantage if they act quickly and regain a few hundred square miles of lost land within 2 short weeks easily. Not to mention easily capturing straggling Saudi and Sudanese troops which will be in disarray.

Mike

The rats are at each others throats, well that’s good news at-least as the old cliched saying say’s, there is no honor among thieves, or in the case of the Saudi’s and the UAE, between murderous psychopaths.

Zionism = EVIL

The Emirati pimps stopped funneling money to the Wahhabi tribes and they turned on them after Saudi instigation. Most of the moderate Sunni Yemenis have joined the military and AnsarAllah and want their country free. The Saudis are taking horrendous losses in Yemen and running out of canon fodder.

J Ramirez

I wish both sides the best of luck, KILL them all ;}

Feudalism Victory

It’s been a long war. Things change given enough time.

J Roderet

Great news, hopefully the Southern movement forces will kick the Saudi puppets totally out of Aden.

Garga

Hmmm… That’s not necessarily a good outcome for Yemen. As much as I’m against Saudi atrocities, in this particular case I prefer that the Saudi puppet (Hadi) kicks Emirati puppet (Southern Hezam). Do I need to mention that I prefer Ansarallah kicks the both of them?

Emirate plans to divide Yemen and steal a chunk of it (Aden, neighbouring area Yemeni islands in the gulf of Aden) while Saudi wants almost all of Yemen. If Emirate and it’s puppets manage to separate the south from the north, it’ll be the start of a new and lengthy bloodshed, a real civil war just like a few decades ago. The irony is that both Saudis and Emiratis are somebody else’s puppets and that somebody dances to the tune of another entity.

Seem like Yemen and Yemenis will be free and sovereign as well as gain full control of theirs land sooner than we think.

Zionism = EVIL

The dumbass Saudi have made eternal enemies of the some of the toughest fighters on earth. The Yemeni tribal system is like Afghan Pashtunwali code, you kill a tribal or family member and they will haunt you forever. Now generations of Yemenis will be killing the hated Saudis for revenge.

Unknown

Except that most of the fighting is done by Yemenis themselves. its a civil war, its Yemenis vs Yemenis with Saudi air support.

Icarus Tanović

Also seems like Al Hodaidah and entire western Yemeni coast will be free in at the end of September.

If STC took full control of Aden I believe this would be the beginning of the end of the Saudi war on Yemen. With UAE withdrawing it’s forces contribution, the lesser-able Saudi ground forces and their mercenaries would be vulnerable to outright defeat …. here’s hoping.

Zionism = EVIL

To make a long story short, the SAUDIS ARSEHOLES ARE FUCKED! The UAE pimps have opted out of the quagmire and signed a security pact with Iran and normalized relations with Qatar.The Saudis are totally dependent on Americunts, Brit poodles and Zionist scum and even that is not helping much.
