On November 5, the Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) released a video revealing new details about the recent battle in the northern Lattakia countryside.
The battle erupted on November 1 morning, when al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its Turkish-backed allies launched a large-scale attack on Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions in the region.
ANNA’s video reveals how the army ambushed a group of dozens of militants as they attempted to peneterate a defense line. The group was detected thanks to a thermal surveillance system.
Moreover, the video shows SAA soldiers targeting militants’ vehicles and fortifications with guided anti-tank missiles (ATGMs) and artillery rounds.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least eleven Jihadists were killed in the failed attack.
HTS and its allies initially planned to penetrate the SAA’s main defense line in northern Lattakia, likely to attack civilian areas behind it. In 2013 and 2014, the terrorists killed, abducted and displaced hundreds of civilians, mainly minorities, during similar attacks on the region.
Anna news keeps showing the world what true journalism is about. Great job.
The same will happen to the Turks backed and the SDF if they go against the Syrians.
