The Cement Plant in the southern part of the Ramouseh Neighborhod is one of the strategic sites (along with the southern part of 1070 Apartment Project, the 3000 Apartment Project and the areas west of the Ramouseh Roundabout) that allow the Syrian government forces to keep the fire control of Jaish al-Fatah’s corridor to eastern Aleppo. This allows the pro-government forces to prevent any significant supplies of arms and equipment to the militant-controlled part of the Aleppo city and pose a threat to the corridor opened by jihadists.
On August 14 and early on August 15, pro-militant sources widely dissiminated reports that the Jaish al-Fatah operation room was able to seize the Cement Plant. However, closer look at the situation proves that this was a common war propaganda.
Following 2 days of clashes, the Syrian army and Hezbollah are in contol of this strategic area and are ready to continue attacks on the militant-controlled areas of Ramouseh.
