The Houthis launched a new cross-border attack on the Saudi military’s positions in the Kingdom’s southern province of Jizan on March 27. In the course of the attack, Houthi fighters captured several positions in the town of al-Asasiyah and the area of al-Ruq’a.
The media wing of the Yemeni rebel group released an 8-minute video of the attack. In the video, Houthi fighters can be seen storming the positions of the Saudi military and capturing weapons and other military equipment.
“We enter the fifth year [of war on Yemen], God’s willing, with a victory … We are ready and prepared for any option our leader Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi wants to bet on,” a field commander of the Houthis says in the end of the attack video.
The Houthis attack in southern Jizan represents yet another major blow to the Saudi-led coalition, which has been trying to secure the Saudi-Yemeni border for more than five years now.

With MbS somehow surviving and remaining in power, which surprised me, the Yemen war continues. Last summer I predicted the Houthis would take the war into KSA and this has happened. But MbS has survived this embarrassment. Given MbS has not fall from power, the Houthis have to amp up the war in KSA and this is now happening. This will get worse for KSA, not better.
Message to MbS: you still have time but not much time to end this war. Give the Houthis back their country before they take yours.
