On September 9, the Houthis (Ansar Allah) released footage from a recent large-scale raid that took place in the northern Yemen province of Hajjah.
The raid targeted positions of Saudi-backed forces between the al-Tol border crossing with Saudi Arabi and the nearby border town of Harad.
Houthi fighters stormed the positions with nothing more than assault rifles, hand grenades and rocket-propelled grenades. Saudi-backed forces fled the area without showing any real resistance after sustaining some losses.
The Houthis launched several large-scale ground operations against the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies earlier this year.
Three of the largest operations took place in the Yemeni provinces of Ma’rib, al-Jawf and al-Bayda. The Yemeni group also carried out a large-scale cross-border attack inside the southern Saudi province of Jizan. Hundreds of Saudi-led coalition personnel were allegedly killed, wounded or captured during these operations.
According to Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Houthis, the group will announce a new large-scale operation on September 11. The spokesman didn’t provide any further details.
