On June 28, the Houthis repelled a new ground attack by the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies on their positions in the district of Hayran in the northwestern Yemeni province of Hajjah.
During the clashes, the Houthis destroyed a pickup truck armed with a heavy machine gun of Saudi-backed forces and captured another one. Several coalition personnel were also killed or injured.

Hajjah is located right to the south of Saudi Arabia’s Jizan, where several infrastructure objects were targeted by the Houthis over the last two weeks. The Yemeni resistance group also maintain a small military presence in the southern part of the Saudi province.
The Saudi-led coalition failure to secure the northern part of Hajjah is one of the many reasons behind the deteriorating security situation in the southern Saudi region.
